Spoons Craigslist Revolution Tour |
press release reports: NYC Indie-Rockers The
Black Spoons will embark on a 10-city tour in honor of Craigslist, the
venerable online community bulletin board. Everybody knows about the MP3
revolution and how it's changed the way music is sold and distributed.
And everybody already knows about the 'ProTools Revolution' and how it's
changed the way music is recorded. But there's another revolution taking
place in music: the Craigslist Revolution. And this one is literally changing
how bands are being formed, how they're sustaining themselves, and ultimately
how music these days is being made. This tour is in honor of that revolution
and the immense impact it's had on the independent music scene in this
era of media consolidation. In this day and age, Craigslist is the lifeblood
of the DIY movement.
Hosting the tour will be The Black Spoons,
a band that exemplifies this movement: great musicians and songwriters
who have found a way to sustain themselves and their music without adhering
to the existing music business paradigm. Each stop on the tour will feature
top local bands that share the same indie ethic and more importantly; make
phenomenal music. [see full story for more]- Click
