Hanoi Vs Motley
Blabbermouth reports: HANOI ROCKS guitarist Andy McCoy has slammed MÖTLEY CRÜE over their account of HANOI drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley's death and CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx's heroin overdose, as published in CRÜE's best-selling band autobiography, "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band". Asked by Norway's Metal Express to comment on the book's description of the events surrounding the tragic car accident caused by MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil in 1984 that killed his passenger, HANOI drummer Razzle, McCoy said, "Bulls***, Pure lies. I was there. What happened was Razzle disappeared, and so did Vince. The rest of us were chilling out, man. And he had a wife who was seven months pregnant. After an hour or so, she started getting worried. So me and T-Bone, Tommy Lee [MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer], took his car and we went looking for him. We drove past this accident. So I was like, 'What color was the car he was driving around?' 'Hey, man, we just passed the f***ing scene of an accident with a bright red sports car all smashed up.' I saw Razzle's hat on the street, I went up, 'What the f***'s happened?' They said, 'You have to go to this and this hospital.' In the hospital, I walk in with Tommy, and I was asking about Razzle, and this doctor walks up, 'Anybody here know this guy called Razzle?' I said, 'Yeah, I do, his family.' 'Sorry, your friend has passed away.' I thought he might have a broken leg or something. I had to call the band, and you don't tell this kind of news over the telephone. I asked them to come to the hospital. And it was a pretty sad scene altogether."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Russian Napster Succeeds
tinfoil reports: Since November 2003 the web music merchant www.allofmp3.com, operated by the Russian company Media Services, has been openly selling some of the most popular western music at a fraction of the cost of widely touted American sites, such as Apple's hugely successful iTunes, Rhapsody, MusicMatch, Napster, Sony Connect. Clients can select from a wide variety of encoding options (e.g., AAC, MP3, OGG, WMA 9 Lossless, Monkey's Audio, OptimFROG and FLAC) starting at rates of 128kbps all the way to full CD (.wav files). Unlike its major competitors Allofmp3 sells the tracks by the megabyte. Beginning in January rates were doubled to USD 0.02/MB. Instead of paying USD 1.00 per track AllofMP3 users pay less than USD 0.10 and less the USD 2.00 per album. Currently the site boasts almost 30,000 albums from all genre and it all appears legal for the moment.

The legal skinny

How does www.allofmp3.com prevent being shut down? They do it the old fashion way: legally. There is a loophole in the Russian copyright legislation that makes services like Allofmp3 possible. Apparently this loophole cannot be closed easily. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

The Great Slapp Off
After ten daily slapp adventures it turns out that it was just too much slapp for people to handle. Or there was just too much slapp to go around. It's been a fun ride and I appreciate everyone that wasted precious minutes reading my ramblings, but like quality TV shows, not many people seemed to tune in for the daily slapp. I now know how those middle-aged overweight groupies must feel when Motley Crue finds their spandex and lipstick wanting and play X-box instead. The boss took pitty on me and offered to let me dig myself deeper in a hole and finish out the month in hopes that more people would become slapp-happy, but I'm taking the low road and calling it a slapp. So I wanted to say thanks to the groovy people that supported me and to those that didn't, you won't have Scott to slapp around any longer Ha, thought you could get rid of me that easily? Think again. I'll continue my slapp action but back in a monthly installment. Think of it as mega-slapp and you'll have to wait patiently to get it each month. Until then, no slapp for you! - Click Here for the Full Story
