Contact Music reports: STEREOPHONICS singer KELLY JONES had a lucky escape at a gig on Thursday (7APR05) when his microphone almost electrocuted him. 

The Welsh rocker, 31, was performing at an intimate concert for French radio station OUI FM in Paris when he suddenly staggered backwards as an electric current from the microphone coursed through his body.

Reuters reports: Former Hole and Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur has finished writing the material that will make up her sophomore album for Capitol.

diddy Child Support
AP reports: Hip-hop star Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has been ordered to pay more than $21,000 a month in child support to an ex-girlfriend with whom he has an 11-year-old son. 

The order, issued Thursday by the New York Supreme Court's Appellate Division, came after Combs appealed a Westchester Family Court ruling last year that he should pay $35,000 a month. He currently pays about $5,000. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Jacko Touched Culkin?
AP reports: A former employee of Michael Jackson was the second witness in the singer's molestation trial to describe watching intimate contact between Jackson and child star Macaulay Culkin. 

Phillip LeMarque, who said he and his wife worked for Jackson for 10 months in 1991, testified Friday that he saw Jackson with his hand inside Culkin's shorts but didn't tell anyone because "nobody would have ever believed this." Rappers Help Schools
Contact Music reports: The rappers 50 CENT and THE GAME have donated $200,000 (GBP105,260) to help boost suffering schools in California's Compton district. 

The pair made the donations through their respective companies THE BLACK WALL STREET and THE G-UNITY FOUNDATION yesterday (07APR05) to help the COMPTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT and its ailing arts and music program, which has been dormant for several years, according to website ALLHIPHOP.COM. New U2 Album in 2006?
antiMusic reports: [Special report from Trent McMartin] Since being released in November of 2004, U2's latest record How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb has gone on to sell over 9 million copies, spawned three hit singles (two of them reached number 1 in the UK), and has been the subject of countless positive reviews. 

There are rumours circling the Internet of a possible U2 album to be released in spring or summer 2006. Feeding these rumours, Bono was quoted in Rolling Stone late last year as saying "I think there will be a record in 2006. Because we're on it now. But I don't think it's a healthy state of mind to imagine that this band should go on and on. Everyone in it asks very hard questions about its continuing."
