QOTSA
Less One |
Contact Music reports: Rocker MARK LANEGAN
has left QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's American tour, prompting rumours of
a bust-up with frontman JOSH HOMME.
Fans were surprised to find Lanegan on
the tour line-up, because he reportedly quit the band after their last
road trip, the SONGS FOR THE DEAF TOUR, to focus on his burgeoning solo
career.
Sources suggest a clash with Homme may
be the real reason for his sudden departure - but the band insist he is
suffering from exhaustion.
A statement released on Monday (4APR05)
reads, "Mark Lanegan is taking a brief sabbatical from the ongoing Queens
tour due to exhaustion. [see full story for more]- Click

Bullet
Train to Vegas |
press release reports: Nitro Records announced
today the signing of Bullet Train to Vegas. The band will release their
debut full-length, We Put Scissors Where Our Mouths Are, June 14th.
Shunning any apparent influence from their
sunny, palm tree-lined Southern California surroundings, We Put Scissors
Where Our Mouths Are is a finely-sharpened attack of angular, Gang Of Four-esque
guitars mixed with a disjointed and infectious songwriting sensibility.
Produced by Alex Newport (At The Drive In, The Icarus Line) We Put Scissors
Where Our Mouths Are follows up 2003's Letterbomb-release, Profile This
EP. [see full story for tracks and tour dates]- Click

Stranglers
DVD |
press release reports: Music Video Distributors
and Target Video are pleased to announce the home viewing release of the
The Stranglers Live 1978 in San Francisco for worldwide distribution
on DVD.
The Stranglers were among the predecessors
of Punk who began by playing the raucous UK pub band scene. When the notion
of punk manifested, The Stranglers were a perfect fit for the movement.
Founded in Chiddingfold, England in 1974 by Hugh Cornwell (guits/vox),
Jean-Jacques Burnell (bass/vox), Dave Greenfield (keys) and Jet Black (drums),
The Stranglers maintained an unmistakable stage presence by always dressing
in black and producing a hard, dark, and intriguingly moody sound. [see
