If you are in the LA area this is
the show NOT to miss. As most of our regular readers know, antiMUSIC sponsors
a couple shows a week for Hollywood promoter Happenin' Harry - Sunday's
at the Cat Club in Hollywood and Wednesday's at The Joint in LA. Got word
from Harry yesterday that tonight's party at the Joint will include a very
special guest set by Brian Johnson, lead vocalist of AC/DC! Brian's in
L.A. for a couple days and wanted to come down with a few of his friends
and jam.
Brian is set to hit the stage at 10:00 PM with his backing back which includes Waddy Wachtel (Stevie Nicks, Neil Young & Adam Sandler Band), Phil Jones (Tom Petty) and Rick The Bass Player (Joe Walsh & Neil Young).
Brian's set will be followed by an all-star jam by the 9 Inch Chili Pumpkins featuring a who's who of hard rock with Happenin' Harry on lead vocals (see full story link for more details). Doors open at 7:45 and music kicks off at 8:00 PM.

Abrasive Rock reports: Rocker Ozzy Osbourne is defying wife Sharon's orders
to get rid of his quad bikes - following his near-fatal accident in December.
The former Black Sabbath frontman promised to give up his dangerous hobby which resulted in him crashing on his English country estate - smashing eight ribs and spending eight days in a coma last year.
Osbourne says: "I still have the bikes.

Alanis Bombed Out
AP reports: Alanis Morissette is the latest
international star to cancel a concert in Indonesia due to security fears.
Morissette, who is touring with her new album, "So-Called Chaos," had been
set to perform Sunday in the capital Jakarta, concert promoter Rini Noor
told local television station Metro TV on Tuesday.
A U.S. travel advisory on Sept. 3 warned of possible terror attacks in Indonesia. Six days after the advisory was issued, a suicide bombing outside the Australian Embassy in the Kuningan district of central Jakarta killed nine people and injured more than 170. 6, MTV2 will air a special tour edition of "Headbanger's Ball" featuring

special guests, and HIMSA kicking off the evening. The tour kicks off on

E! Online reports: They already have their
million dollars. Now, the Barenaked Ladies may get their own TV show too.
The goofball Canuck rockers are working on a variety series pilot for Fox, a rep for the band confirmed Tuesday.

Oasis Wants Ringo
Xfm reports: Noel Gallagher, the man Oasis
simply refer to as �The Guvnor', has been talking exclusively to Xfm Online
about Liam's new songs, going out on tour again "sharpish" and recording
with one of The Beatles.
Gallagher explained that Oasis are about to travel to Los Angeles to complete work on their highly anticipated, and as-yet-untitled new album, where (after the departure of drummer Alan White) the band will be enlisting the help of former Beatle Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey. Starkey filled the drum stool for the band's recent Glastonbury Festival appearance, and Noel explained that he also wants his new father on the record too.
"Zak will drum on the bulk of it," he explained to Xfm, "And we're gonna try - while we're out there - to get his Dad down the studio cos he lives in LA. So we're gonna try and get him on cos we've got this one song which is quite� well, f***ing funnily enough, it sounds like The Beatles, and we're gonna try and get him and his Dad on the same track. Kid Rock Stands Up Fans
Rockdirt reports: In Touch magazine reports
that Kid Rock pulled out of a charity event thrown by Chris Chelios of
the Detroit Red Wings at the House of Blues in Chicago recently, even though
hundreds of fans shelled out $80 to see him perform. Rock told fans coming
into the venue that he was "getting out of here" and bolted to the exit.
Ex-Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan filled in at the last minute

Misfits Tour
Soul Shine reports: Picking up their instruments
and travelling across the continent playing their music for legions of
faithful fans is legendary punk outfit The Misfits. With a total of 24
North American performances scheduled for this fall, the re-formed band
will hit three Canadian cities. The tour is set to kick off on October
9th in Massachusetts, finishing up in Connecticut on November 14th.
The last album that the new version of The Misfits released was called �Project 1950', put on shelves in 2003. In addition to original Misfits member Jerry Only, the line-up that created �Project 1950' included Marky Ramone and Dez Cadena (formerly of Black Flag). Kids Rock Down Under
Herald Sun reports: THEY are hard rockers
who are too young to buy a beer.
With an average age of 14, the members of Menace already have a plan for world domination. "We want to be the biggest band in the world," guitarist Jason Resch, 15, said.
Menace recently stole second place in a battle of the bands against more experienced musicians, many of them a decade older.

Pitchfork reports: The current status
of retro-rockers Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is somewhat in flux, according
to a recent Billboard report. While the band have just finished a recent
tour in support of their second album Take Them On, On Your Own, and are
already putting together tracks for a third release, they are also currently
without a record label, and rumors are spreading of longtime drummer Nick
Jago (it's always the f***ing drummer) being permanently dropped from the

Son Volt Reunion
Pitchfork reports: As announced at jayfarrar.net,
all four original members (Jay Farrar, Mike Heidorn, and brothers Dave
and Jim Boquist) are mere days away from reuniting outside St. Louis at
Farrar's studio, Jajouka, to record a fourth Son Volt album. This past
April, the foursome got together briefly to record "Sometimes" for an Alejandro
Escovedo tribute. Said Farrar, "It felt like we hit the ground running
when we recorded Al's song... Five years seemed like five days at that
point. It proved that more recording and performing as Son Volt is something
that should happen."

Chaka Son Set Free
Mercurynews.com reports: Prosecutors declined
to file charges Tuesday against the son of R&B singer Chaka Khan pending
further investigation into the slaying of a teenager, Damien Patrick Holland,
25, was arrested shortly after the Friday night shooting, authorities said.
"There's not sufficient evidence at this time to file criminal charges,"

is crossing over to television as the star of an ABC sitcom.
After competitive bidding among several networks, the project from 20th Century Fox TV and studio-based Brad Grey TV landed at ABC with a script commitment plus a six-figure penalty.

AP reports: SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer
and the Rugrats could all become rock stars in the next few years.
Children's television network Nickelodeon has partnered with BMG to create a record label, which means tunes from shows like "SpongeBob SquarePants" will be released as albums.

Weezer Update
Aversion reports: Weezer will put the
finishing touches on its fifth album when front man Rivers Cuomo enjoys
winter break.
While Cuomo attends Harvard, the rest of the band has tracked out its parts in a studio. They'll wait for their singer/guitarist to get some time out of class to lay down guitar tracks and vocals. Siouxsie Tantrum in Frisco
Ananova reports: Punk veteran Siouxsie
Sioux threw a tantrum at a gig in San Francisco because the air-conditioning
was too cold.
Just four songs into her set at the Warfield Theatre, she yelled at management to immediately turn off the air conditioning.
But, after a few moments with the air conditioning
still blasting cold air into venue she set down her microphone and stormed
off. "Alright, I'm off," she told the sold-out crowd. A few minutes later,
the 47-year-old singer returned and the band played their 1983 cover of
The Beatles' Dear Prudence.
