The Streets Banned
Xfm reports: The Streets New Video Banned.
The video for the new single by The Streets, Blinded By The Lights' has
been banned by all televisions stations, who claim its scenes of sex, drug
taking and violence are all far too explicit for broadcast.
The promo shows Streets frontman Mike Skinner meeting his girlfriend at a wedding, where he drinks too much, takes a shedload of drugs, dances like a idiot, gets into a fight (becuase his girlfriend had sex with someone else in the toilets) and has the crap kicked out of him.
Now, The Sun has reported that TV watchdog Ofcom has decided that the video is totally unsuitable for broadcast. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

The OC Double Soundtrack
MTV reports: It's fitting that the first
two letters in "October" are "OC," because the month particularly October
26 is shaping up to be a big one for fans of the teen drama. That Tuesday
not only sees the DVD release of "The O.C.: The Complete First Season,"
but also of two new soundtrack albums from the show.
The O.C.: Mix 2 and The O.C. Chrismukkah Album feature an indie-heavy list of bands, including the Killers, Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy Eat World, reflecting executive producers Josh Schwartz and McG's less-than-mainstream musical tastes.[see full story for more include tracklistings]- Click Here for the Full Story
The soundtracks stays in character with show (which is filmed in LA county) as the bands featured come from everywhere but O.C. It must have been too hard to find notable bands from the actual area.
Morrissey Fan Sue KROQ?
Aversion reports: Morrissey fans who feel
jilted that a Los Angeles radio station withheld information about Morrissey's
cancellation may be plotting a class-action lawsuit.
While no papers have been filed, an anonymous poster on Morrissey-solo.com claimed that a $50 million class action lawsuit against KROQ was in the works. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Please keep in mind that this is from a posting on a message board and the allegations are unconfirmed. So take it with a grain of salt, although Dan Rather reportedly has documents that prove a vast chicken-wing conspiracy was undertaken by KFC to made Morrissey sick.

Iced Earth On Ice
Metal-Rules reports: [statement from Jon
Schaffer] Things have been pretty crazy between the awesome news of being
a future father for the first time, the back problems and the numerous
doctor visits; MRI's, EMG's and a load of other tests, a new business that
has taken off and grown much quicker than expected (Spirit of 76 Collectibles),
the Gettysburg DVD, Iced Earth's day to day, Demons & Wizards, a 4
figure miniature series called "The Great Americans" and another line-up
change.
Unfortunately for me, the guys in the band, the crew, the label, and more importantly the fans, we will not be touring Europe or anywhere else until summer 2005 due to my serious lower back problems and the fact that I'll be a father in early March. We plan on playing many of the big European festivals next summer and they are being booked at present.
This is the main reason that Jimmy is no longer with Iced Earth. He called me after it was obvious that I.E. would not be touring for a while and asked if I would mind if he auditioned for Megadeth. I wished him luck and told him that if he can go out and earn money by playing bass he should do it. [see full story for a lot more]- Click Here for the Full Story
Cradle of Filth T-shirt Uproar
Metal-Rules reports: Dani's usual rock
and roll antics have been out of the limelight whilst the band have been
holed up in the studio laying down the new tracks. Now released the band
find themselves once again at the centre of a controversy storm. 'Gilded
C*nt' - the first downloadable track from the outstanding new album - has
whipped up a storm across the pond where it seems the 'C' word has caused
offence to our American friends, a host of complaints having been levied
at the bands US representatives. 'Gilded C*nt' has proven to be one of
the most downloaded preview tracks in our online history.
Merchandise company Blue Grape have had their printing plant refuse to handle the proposed artwork for the new COF T-Shirt. The factory (TOT Shirts Ltd.) have been forced to reject the order since staff literally downed tools in disgust. The proposed artwork features the image of a bare breasted women seemingly bleeding from between the legs & the bands logo on the front, with the words 'You Gilded C*nt' on the reverse. No Reunions For Dio
Blabbermouth reports: In a recent interview
with Classic Rock Revisited, vocalist Ronnie James Dio was asked about
the possibility of a RAINBOW reunion at some point in the future. "There
are no reunions for me," he replied. "There is no reunion with RAINBOW
and there are certainly no reunions with BLACK SABBATH. I went there twice
and it didn't happen the second time, either. I don't want to be involved
in that anymore. They are doing what they want to do with Ozzy and that
is good for them. I wish them all the best. There is nothing backward at
all about what they are doing.
"We had an opportunity to do RAINBOW about five or six years ago. It just didn't quite work from a record company/management standpoint. It is a shame that it didn't happen. It was going to be one show televised and recorded in Tokyo. We could have finally given the people what they wanted. That didn't happen for all these years and I don't have time for that anymore. Napster Goes Public
Wired reports: Call it the kitty's third
life. Roxio bought the Napster brand name and feline logo at a bankruptcy
auction two years ago and with the acquisition of another music service,
Pressplay, relaunched the once-renegade file-swapping pioneer as a legal
music service last October.
Now in its latest reincarnation, Roxio has shed its CD-burning software business and plans to concentrate solely on selling and delivering music over the web. It will adopt Napster as its corporate name, trading under a new ticker symbol. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
The Cure Icon Special Taped
BBC reports: British Goth-pop band The
Cure have been declared an 'MTV Icon', with 26 years of music making honoured
at a tribute concert at Old Billingsgate Market in London. The invitation-only
event in London's old fish market was packed.
Manson, complete with trademark sneer and white face paint, played the role of story-telling uncle, taking the 1,000 strong crowd through a night of music and video flashbacks.
And there were plenty of glowing tributes from musicians and bands who claimed to have been influenced by The Cure's moody tunes.
From Limp Bizkit to Linkin Park, Embrace to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dizzee Rascal to Metallica and many more - is there any musician out there who does not claim to have been under the spell of Robert Smith's yelps? [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story
