Love Pleads Guilty
antiMUSIC reports: Courtney Love pleaded
guilty on Wednesday to a charge of disorderly conduct that resulted from
the embattled singer hitting a concergoer on the head with a microphone
stand during an appearance last March in New York.
Love's plea was part of an agreement with the district attorney's office. She was originally charged with third-degree assault and reckless endangerment, which could have landed her behind bars for a year on each charge.
Manhattan Criminal Judge Melissa Jackson went along with the plea agreement and granted Love a conditional discharge that stipulates that Love must pay her victim $2,336 for medical expenses, enroll in a drug-treatment program and not violate any other laws. If Love lives up to her side of the agreement, her case will be sealed. If she violates the agreement she faces jail time. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Nirvana Reunion
Blabbermouth reports: Doug Elfman of the
Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting that the two remaining members of
NIRVANA, a seminal band in rock history, hadn't stood on stage together
since 1993, when singer Kurt Cobain killed himself. But on Tuesday night,
Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic walked on a stage in the parking lot of
the Stardust and hugged.
It was the hug that rocked the vote. That was the intention, at least. The rockers were joined by Tom DeLonge of the punk band BLINK-182. They picked Las Vegas to launch a 10-day bus trip through battleground states in the presidential election. [see full story for more, including a link to a photo]- Click Here for the Full Story

KISS 'Ozzy is Sad'
Day in Rock reports: KISSonline has a
rather extensive review with Gene Simmons where he talks about a lot of
issues including lineup changes, Rolling Stone Magazine, a tour of the
White House, what he says to those that complain about the bogus "farewell
tour" and then he gives his views on rock stars in reality TV. He had some
rather strong words about how this has worked out for Ozzy.
It was bound to happen, and every show is only as good as the celebrity that's involved. Ozzy's is still magnificent, because Ozzy's not a faker, Ozzy is what he is. Everybody sees it as a comedy, but I see it as very sad. I've known Ozzy for twenty-five or thirty years. The one thing nobody ever says at the beginning of a show is, "Please don't use drugs, otherwise you'll end up like me." Because all the shaking and the stuttering and all thatOzzy's come clean on thatit's because he's done that to himself. And it's sad, because when the cameras go away, the same person is a real human being, it's not just a TV show. And yet, every day of the week, there are new fifteen-year-old kids saying, "Let's get in the car and get high." And I'm thinking, "Another idiot is born." Memory Card Albums
tinfoil.music reports: Robbie Williams
is making plans to release his greatest hits album in stores very shortly.
While this isn't newsworthy in and of itself, the fact that the singer
is also releasing it on an MMC (mobile memory card) complete with video
content geared towards cell-phones is interesting.
The card features 'CD Quality' audio as well as video formatted for the small screens on cell-phones. The card will only be released in the UK where cell-phones or 'mobiles', as those crazy Brits say, have a very high adoption rate compared to, say, North America. Celine Dion record, I realized I could make some serious money at it."

Floyd Snubbed McCartney
ArrowFM reports: Who dares to reject a
Beatle? Well, the boys from Pink Floyd apparently had no problem in doing
so. In Nick Mason's upcoming biography, the Floyd drummer said that McCartney
offered some suggestions for the thematic elements of their incredible
album Dark Side of the Moon. McCartney was reportedly laying down tracks
for his Wings album Red Rose Speedway at Abbey Road Studios in London while
the Floyd was there working on Dark Side. Seems as if the Beatles legend
had to "audition" to appear on the record and failed in the doing.[see
