Governor Courtney Love?
Jam reports: The haggard and oft-troubled
rock diva has just announced her plans for a handful of tour dates, as
well as her plans to beat her recent legal battles -- including drug possession
and assault charges -- and, yes, one day rule the world!
"I'm not a dangerous person," Love told Rolling Stone this week during an interview at a restaurant, where presumably all of the meals were nonetheless eaten with a spoon.
"I'd like to be governor one day, so I will not go down with a felony." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Good Charlotte Ditch PopPunk
Chart Attack reports: Kiss your favourite
pop-punk rockers Good Charlotte goodbye. Well, at least bid the GC sound

effort The Chronicles Of Life And Death (released earlier this week), you'll
be in for a bit of a surprise.
"We're not a pop-punk band anymore," exclaims singer Joel Madden. From more personally revealing lyrics to the influx of diverse musical instruments (yeah, keyboards can be diverse at times) and stronger in-song dynamics, this album isn't your average Good Charlotte release.
"We don't know where we fit in anymore," Madden continues. "We like what we're doing, but we're not a straight-ahead rock band." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

In Stores: Red Hot Bio
Day in Rock reports: Occasionally on slow
news days, we'll showcase a recent review here. As we reported a couple
weeks ago Anthony Kiedis penned his autobiography "Scar Tissue". The book
hit the stores last week and let me tell you it's one hell of a read. Below
if just a portion of the review we just posted on our sister site Rocknworld.com,
click the full story link to read it all:
Unlike most rock bios where we get a crash course through the artist's childhood, in Scar Tissue Anthony devotes the first 100 pages or so of the book to his early years. And those years were anything but typical and provide some compelling and sometimes juicy stories. From the trials of being the child of divorced parents that live on opposite sides of the country, to his hippy drug-dealing father who took him under his wing at a very young age and showed him the wild side of Hollywood. Not many kids count Sonny Bono as a baby sitter and probably only one kid on the cusp of puberty can tell the tale of sleeping with a naked Cher or losing his virginity to his father's girlfriend or being turned on to drugs by that same father. Worst Riffs Of All time
Day in Rock reports: A follow up to a
story last week. CC Deville isn't the only one targeted by Guitar World
is their new "100 Worst Riffs, Licks & Solos of All Time" list. The
magazine reported picked the riffs that they felt are "lazy," "boring,"
"just plain stoopid," or "involve C.C. Deville."
CC nabbed the top spot for his "Guitar Solo" from "Swallow This Live". He also made a couple entries earlier in the list for "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" and also for a guest solo of Warrant's "Cherry Pie", according to the Associated Press.
CC was in good company and not even legends like Santana and Clapton could escape the editors of Guitar World.
Apart from CC's No. 1 solo, AP reports that the rest of the top 10 includes "Summertime Blues," Blue Cheer; "The Game of Love," Carlos Santana; Falstaff beer 1967 radio spot, Cream; "All You Need is Love," The Beatles; "Thirsty and Miserable," Black Flag; "Wango Tango," Ted Nugent; "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," Rolling Stones; "Sting of the Bumblebee," Manowar; and "American Woman," Lenny Kravitz.
