50 Cent Brawl
Launch reports: Rapper 50 Cent was involved
in a scuffle during a surprise performance at the Hippodrome nightclub
in Springfield, Massachusetts early Saturday morning (May 8). The Associated
Press reports that 50 Cent and members of his entourage got involved in
a shoving match with concertgoers which resulted in two people being arrested
on charges of disturbing the peace.
According to authorities, 50 Cent made a surprise performance at an event hosted by Hartford radio station WZMX-FM. About 10 minutes into the rapper's performance someone in the crowd threw a cup of water on him. 50 Cent removed his gold chain and jumped into the crowd. NIN Break Silence
Reuters reports: After keeping a low profile
since the 1999 release of "The Fragile," Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent
Reznor has finally begun revealing details about his next album. "Bleed
Through" is due later this year via Interscope and will find Reznor "touring
extensively" in support of it, according to NIN's official Web site (http://www.nin.com).
"One of the 'rules' of this record has been to orchestrate using only monophonic voices. No chords. Anywhere," Reznor says. "Most of the synthesis has been done with a rather elaborate (and ever-growing) modular rig and recorded live." The set will feature a combination of live and programmed drumming.
Sessions are currently in progress in New Orleans [see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story

Brides Not Welcome?
siN's metal news reports: Canadian authorities
have denied entrance to their Great White country to yet another band.
Last week it was HATEBREED, now BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION have been barred
from crossing up North due to "past felonies":
"I'm at a hotel by the airport in Philly. The band is back at the bus, probably on their way to some other hotel. We can't play Toronto due to past felonies in our camp, so I'm flying home for two days to see Donna and the kids. The promoter usually has these legal matters covered and worked out but he dropped the ball and we've been denied entry into Canada. I feel bad for the fans up there. The Fuse has been very supportive of the BRIDES as have the fans and we really wanted to play..." - Click Here for the Full Story

MTV reports: In the punk and indie-rock
communities, members of different bands often collaborate on side projects
and release them through independent labels. Major labels, however, aren't

Citing a noncompete clause in the group's contract, New Found Glory's label, Geffen, has forced Gilbert to pull out of the project and relinquish writing and playing credits on Hazen Street's self-titled debut, due in July. Gilbert's contributions will remain on the album: He just won't receive credit for them. [see the full story for more details and the reaction of the members]- Click Here for the Full Story
