Van Hotair
Melodic Rock reports: Los Angeles radio
station KLOS-FM have been running a Van Halen teaser campaign all day,
promising exclusive Van Halen news, also adding a teaser banner to their
website: www.955klos.com/home.asp
Sadly the station hasn't made any announcment after teasing fans all day. Were they asked not to, or are they just dicking fans around? The next 24 hours should bring some answers.
The facts however, are clear. Sammy Hagar is back in the band - as I said in November last year when first contact was initiated and a plan for 2004 put in place.- Click Here for the Full Story
Huge news would be DLR back in the band. Van Hagar reunion is 'ok, that's cool' news.

Silly News For the Week.
PC Overload.
Some silly news to end the week--This
one is an illustration of political correctness run amuck. Reuters reports:
This might not end 'til the plus-sized lady sings.
A Los Angeles Times music critic who wrote that a Richard Strauss opera was "pro-life" -- meaning a celebration of life -- was stunned to pick up the paper and find his review changed by a literal-minded copy editor to read "anti-abortion."
Music critic Mark Swed said the copy editor was adhering to a strict Times policy banning the phrase "pro-life" as offensive to people who support abortion, and didn't seem to realize that the epic Strauss opera "Die Frau Ohne Schatten" had nothing to do with that politically charged issue.
"Its about children who aren't born yet screaming to be born -- not abortion," Swed said. "Somebody who didn't quite get it got a little bit too politically correct ... and we had a little breakdown in communications." - Click Here for the Full Story
But they don't think the term "anti-choice" (which they use) offends people that oppose abortion? Talk about a double standard. But that's to be expected with such a contentious issue. This story is here because 1) it's pretty funny and 2) to demonstrate the silly hypocrisy of political correctness, not as a debate on abortion. But abortion is one of those issues where you can clearly see editorial bias just by looking at the words used. Although Fox has yet to say the word anti-life to describe the pro-abortion movement, you often do hear the word anti-choice on the other networks, which tips their hands on where they stand. Just goes to show you that there is no such thing as unbiased reporting, just ask those homicide/suicide bombers a.k.a. holy martyrs on Al-Jazeera.) In a perfect world we could get the facts from news outlets (excluding these silly comments on the Day in Rock) and thus armed with the facts, make up our own mind instead of getting reports with loaded language that shows the reporters bias. But we don't live in a perfect world, so we must live with bias on both sides and silly comments here at the Day in Rock, especially on slow news days. Now that people on both sides of the abortion debate are offended and outraged, it is time to call it a week. That concludes this edition of fun with loaded words and the downfall of political correctness in America. Stay tuned next time when we de-hyphenate a nation and simply become "Americans".
