Durst Admits CD Flop
WARNING BIASED HATER REPORTING FOLLOWS..

Limp Bizkit frontmonkey Fred Durst has made his first posting to the group's website since their new album, "Results May Vary," was released last Tuesday. In a rare moment of "hypeless" honestly, Durst admitted to his fans( in a roundabout way) that the group's new album hasn't done as well as expected. He then quickly recovers and explains that the album's "deep" meanings may take time to settle in. Hopefully, for his sake, it won't take too long. The first week numbers for sales of the album in the US should be announced in the next day or two (some speculation have them at a third of what the last CD sold), but if the UK charts are any indication, the Bizkit has gone Limp. The album landed at No. 7, behind Muse, The Darkness, Sting, R. Kelly, and Nickelback.

Fred writes on LimpBizkit.com: RMV["Results May Vary"] is not an instant "smash" record. it is an album that will take time to sink in. the words have a much deeper than they read on the first time or two. things will start speaking to you the more you listen. something about it has kept me listening over and over again. for example, "underneath the gun" is about suicide and the struggle you can have when ending your life becomes an option. if it weren't for creativity and the hope for true love it would have been much more of an option more often. it's those types of dark moments in life that i have learned and grown from. i continue to evolve each new second that floats by me. think about it. give it another listen when you are in an absorbing frame of mind.- Click Here for the Full Story

If that's not enough bad news for poor Fred, he's apparently got shot down by another female star:  Rockdirt reports: A source "very, very close" to Halle Berry (Eric Benet perhaps?) tells Bill Zwecker of The Chicago Sun-Times that Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst may be exagerrating [sic]the status of his relationship with the actress. The source explained, "Trust me. Halle may be friends with Durst, but I'm sure he is much more interested in Halle than she is in him."- Click Here for the Full Story

Damn and here we thought they would be the next Benifer. It's for the best, who wants to read tabloids use a silly term like Durstberry or Frealle?

RIAA Settle 52 Lawsuits
AP reports: The recording industry says it has settled 52 of the 261 suits it filed against Internet users accused of illegally permitted others to download music from their computers.

The Recording Industry Association of America (news - web sites), which plans to file hundreds more lawsuits in October, did not specify how much it collected from the settlements it announced on Monday.

Defense lawyers familiar with some cases said payments ranged from $2,500 to $7,500 each, with at least one settlement for as much as $10,000.

The settlements, which do not include any admission of wrongdoing, require Internet users to destroy copies of illegally downloaded songs and agree to "not make any public statements that are inconsistent" with the agreement. - Click Here for the Full Story

Nugent TV This Fri.
Blabbermouth reports: TED NUGENT's forthcoming reality show, "Surviving Nugent", will premiere October 5 on VH1. Described as "a two-hour reality-based event that challenges not only the intestinal fortitude of the seven contestants, but also the image of the outspoken rock legend," "Surviving Nugent" features "seven unsuspecting souls have accepted an invitation to enter and survive [Ted's] all-terrain universe for cash and prizes."

The magic seven include a vegan, a gay man, a New Yorker who's not afraid to do a little kissing up, a saucy sex kitten who's not ashamed to use all her assets to get ahead, and a Michigan native who is sure smelling sweet will bring him success.

For one of the seven, a total of $50,000 in cash and tempting prizes lay at the end of the rainbow, but before they reach that pot of gold they must get past the "Motor City Madman." If they pass his muster, they stay and move onto the next challenge. If they don't, the arrow head snaps and they are sent packing.- Click Here for the Full Story

Wouldn't it make a better show if Ted invited Michael Moore over for some hunting lessons or to receive a lecture on gun ownership and how great Canada is(only to contradict himself 10 minutes later), and then for the climax there could be a tragic accident involving Ted's foot and Moore's ass?  Not to take sides on this, but if two people were primed for a showdown it's Moore and Nuge, it sounds far more exciting them the real "reality" show they have on tap.

Godsmack Metallica Jr?
GODSMACK drummer Shannon Larkin recently spoke to Canada's Chart Attack about the group's upcoming support slot on METALLICA's Fall 2003 European tour.

"If anything, we're the perfect band [to open for METALLICA]," Larkin exclaimed. "We're METALLICA Jr. we admit it [laughs], you know? And Sully [Erna]'s voice is a lot like James [Hetfield]'s. If there's one band we've always wanted to tour with... I mean, even previous bands, all four of us, it was METALLICA, man. Changed our lives. 1983, 'Kill 'Em All' came out, and basically that was the heaviest metal you could get."

Larkin also spoke about the group's upcoming acoustic album, "The Other Side", due on November 18 through Republic/Universal Records.

"It's going to be seven tracks," he said. "We took one track off. Basically how that started was, when we did 'Serenity' in the studio we really all liked the way that came out. Sully had all these other songs he started playing on the acoustic for us, just at rehearsals and stuff. And we thought, 'Wow, this is really good.' It's not what GODSMACK fans would probably like, but we really liked it, and we were basically in a position where we could do some different things, try things more acoustic-sounding."- Click Here for the Full Story

Shannon was obviously joking or was just kissing some Lars. He really meant to say they are Alice In Chains Jr.

Navarro Vs. Rolling Stone
Rockdirt reports: Liisa Ladouceur of The Toronto Eye recently spoke with Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro about not making it onto Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. "I was shocked, until I found out that Slash wasn't in there either," he said. "So I don't feel so bad. As far as living legends go, I think he's at the top of his game. I've played with him and worked with him and he's a mind-blowing guitar player." The remark brought up Jane's rivalry with Guns N' Roses in the mid-80s, which Navarro says never really was. "There was a perception that there was a Guns/Jane's rivalry. There really wasn't," Navarro insisted. "We just came from different worlds. They were from the Sunset Strip rocker world. We were from the alternative world. We were both coming up at the same time and I think there were times when they wanted to do shows with us but we wanted to keep it on a more alternative level. Since then, Jane's has learned that there is a musical community and it's unnecessary to have rivals in something as sacred as creativity." - Click Here for the Full Story

Ok, not much of a story but it further illustrates what a joke that special edition of RS was. Although I admit my cat does enjoy it, she keeps clawing at the cover. Of course it's at the bottom of her litter box, but that's another story.

Stone Temple Records?
Blabbermouth reports: VELVET REVOLVER/STONE TEMPLE PILOTS frontman Scott Weiland has formed his own record company, Softdrive Records. The first release through the label will be the new CAMPFIRE GIRLS album, "Tell Them Hi" (view cover here), due on October 14 in a joint venture with Interscope Records.

CAMPFIRE GIRLS, who were originally signed to Interscope in the mid-'90s, only released a few singles and an EP before taking the downward spiral of drugs and fighting (or "extra-curricular activities," as the band refer to it in their official biography) that plague so many groups.

Weiland eventually convinced CAMPFIRE GIRLS guitarist Christian Stone to start recording again in 2000 and produced some of the band's subsequent demo tracks at his home studio. Stone rounded up former CAMPFIRE GIRLS members Jon Pikus (drums) and Andrew Clark (bass), and the trio later added a second guitarist, Mike Semple, to the lineup. - Click Here for the Full Story

Dio Loses Thumb
KNAC.com reports: About two weeks ago while gardening at his home, legendary metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio had a pretty bad accident. As something fell over in the garden, he tried to catch it, apparently, and in doing so, his thumb was severed off. Doctors were able to re-attach it, and RJD is doing fine!- Click Here Full Story

Normally this would call for some smartass comment but Ronnie really is a nice guy and he suffered enough already (if this is true).     "Tis' only a flesh wound!", cried the Black Knight.

Movielife No More
Punkbands.com reports: The rumours that The Movielife had broken up are true! Here is the official statement from the band: "I apologize for the delay in posting a statement about what has gone on in the last few days. Hopefully the following letter will say what would have been too difficult to announce any other way.

Today we are officially announcing that we have all mutually decided to stop being the Movielife. It has been the most incredible experience for all of us, but we have no plans to continue being a band. We care greatly for one another and wish each other the best that life can bring.

We want to thank everyone who has allowed us to be a part of their life See link below for more- Click Here Full Story
