Creed
Dismissed
Launch reports:
A Chicago judge has dismissed a class-action lawsuit against the band Creed,
filed by four fans who attended the Orlando-based band's concert in Chicago
on December 29, 2002, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
The suit, filed April 20 in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, claimed that lead singer Scott Stapp "was so intoxicated and/or medicated that he was unable to sing the lyrics of a single Creed song." The four plaintiffs were seeking a refund of their $55.50 ticket price and their parking fees. In addition they were hoping that the suit would allow for the more than 15,000 fans in attendance to be added to the plaintiff list.
Circuit Court Judge Peter Flynn dismissed the suit "with prejudice," which essentially paves the way for the plaintiffs to file a new complaint if they should choose to do so.- Click Here for the Full Story

Auctioning
Lars
Hey here is yet
another Metallica story!
Blabbermouth reports: METALLICA frontman James Hetfield will be auctioning off the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro that was used in the video for "I Disappear" via eBay starting Monday, September 22. Hetfield drove the car (photo) during the filming and was given the car as a gift upon completion of the video shoot. James has owned and driven the car for the last three years. Proceeds from the sale of the car will be donated to music programs in schools. - Click Here for the Full Story
Rumor has it they thought about auctioning off Lars' pots and pans but he needs them for drums on the upcoming tour. (Yes, this dead horse will be beaten into the ground and then some.)
Pink's
"Rancid" New "Punk" CD
VH1 reports: Surprise
it's a rock record! Pink started getting in touch with her inner rock
chick on Missundaztood, thanks to songwriting partner Linda Perry, but
for her latest effort, Pink's got a punker aboard, and it shows.
frontman Tim Armstrong
is all over Pink's upcoming third release, Try This, and the bulk of the
album bears his mark.
Nine out of 13 songs are roughed-up rockers, about going out ("Tonight's the Night"), getting in trouble ("Trouble"), getting stood up ("The Last to Know"), getting burnt out from partying too hard (the Janis Joplin ode "Unwind"), and getting out of town ("Humble Neighborhood") nothing as revealing or personal as the material on Missundaztood, but no less satisfying (see "Pink Won't Be 'Yapping About Her Problems' On New LP, Linda Perry Says").
Not all songs on Try This are purely rock, though. Pink continues to genre-hop on a torchy '70s-like ballad ("Catch Me While I'm Sleeping"), a dancefloor burner with a live feel to it ("God Is a DJ"), and a raunchy meeting of the minds with X-rated beatmaster Peaches ("Oh My God").- Click Here for the Full Story
Pink gone punk? Hearing is believing. Remember some people consider Avril like totally punk rawk, ya know?
Concert
Suicide
And for an encore
tonight, we have a live suicide!
Metal Underground reports: Industrial rock band Hell On Earth will feature a "live suicide" at their State Theatre performance in St. Petersburg, FL on Saturday, October 4th. A Euthanasia Society member will carry out the suicide to raise awareness for dying with dignity. The Euthanasia member, who suffers from a terminal illness, is using the event as a platform to help make back-street suicides a thing of the past.
Though his identity is being withheld until the day of the event, he did have this to say, "I thank the lord that Hell On Earth is giving me this opportunity to end my suffering. I just want to say as my last will and testament that this is my god given choice to end my life. I'd prefer to have a physician-assisted suicide but until the laws are changed, those who are in pain like me will either have to continue to suffer or do it themselves."
The event, The Hell
On Earth Haunted Tour, is part of a national tour the band is on to support
their new album, 'All Things Disturbingly Sassy.'

Motley
Icons
Blabbermouth reports:
MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has told the German edition of
Metal Hammer that talks are underway between the group's management and
MTV about a possible "mtvICON" event to help raise the profile of the band
in the months leading up to the release of the movie version of CRÜE's
best-selling band autobiography, "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's
Most Notorious Rock Band", and subsequent farewell tour.
MÖTLEY CRÜE

QOTSA:
Rock Hall "No-Brainer"
Black Sabbath is
once again among the acts eligible for induction this year in the Rock
And Roll Hall Of Fame. Other harder-edged nominees on the ballot, which
went out to voters last week, include Iggy And The Stooges and the Sex
Pistols. Queens OfThe Stone Age singer/guitarist Josh Homme, in New York
this week while opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, told LAUNCH
that if it was up to him, all three would be inducted with no questions
asked.
"The Stooges are the greatest rock and roll band of all time," Homme said. "And Black Sabbath, you don't even need to say anything. It's like, 'Should they be in there?' Yeah, I think so. Sex Pistols too, man. It's a no-brainer. Doesn't it seem like a no-brainer? I think on the ballot for whatever it would be, it should just say, 'Duh.'"Click Here Full Story
It's a no-brainer to rock fans, but do actual rock fans vote for this? People at Rolling Stone don't count; they still think Quicksilver Messenger Service outlived the "Summer of Love".
Bon
Jovi Takes Left Turn
Chart Attack reports:
Fans will get to relive all the phases of Bon Jovi soon, as the band are
set to release a greatest hits album called This Left Feels Right on November
3.
The new disc is billed as a greatest hits collection, with a twist.
The band went into the studio with Pat Leonard (Madonna, Rod Stewart, Elton John) who co-produced the album, acoustic arrangements of old tunes like "Keep The Faith," "It's My Life" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive." To go along with these reconstructed BJ staples are two brand new songs on the album, "Last Man Standing" and "Thief Of Hearts."
The band's original plans were to go into the studio and record a new acoustic album full of newly written songs, but after experimenting with their back catalogue of songs they ended up crafting new phrasings, tempos and instrumentation and took (as Bon Jovi calls it,) "a complete left turn." - Click Here Full Story
A complete left turn? Um John, an unplugged album isn't exactly an original idea and you never really rocked that hard, so come on with the histrionics. How different can "Wanted Dead or Alive" sound unplugged from the original?
U2
DVD'd
U2 will jump on
the live DVD concert bandwagon.
After a homecoming concert at Ireland's Slane Castle in 2001, the band liked their performance so much that they're releasing the concert to the masses on November 18. The DVD, U2 Go Home, captures the band performing 19 songs to over 160,000 people, which closed their All That You Can't Leave Behind tour on September 1, 2001.
The show at Slane Castle saw the band tear through a bunch of their hits like "New Year's Day," "With Or Without You" and soon-to-be classics like "Elevation" and "Walk On."
Some of the added features that go along with the U2 Go Home DVD include a documentary on the making of their 1984 album The Unforgettable Fire, (also recorded at Slane Castle), and a DVD ROM that has countless U2 treats like a calendar, screensavers and Web links. The coolest thing of all is a doo-hickey called the "Spincam" that lets you view three songs from the concert in a 360-degree view. - Click Here Full Story and track listing

Dre for allegedly illegally sampling her late husband's music. The grandmother
of five claims that her husband's composition - a 24-second instrumental

Eminem's 1999 hit "Guilty Conscience" without permission or any payment.
She seeks unspecified damages pending a full accounting of sales..

If there are any lawyers reading this, I came up with the yo-yo-yo-yo's and uh-huh's that Missy Elliot stole for her songs. Can we sue? Actually, if there are lawyers reading this; that was a bad joke, no need to sue me over it.
