Sharon Osbourne Breast Auctions
The Associated Press reports that Sharon Osbourne is putting a little bit of herself into the fight against breast cancer.

Hand-painted molds of Osbourne's breasts were being auctioned online to benefit the Boarding for Breast Cancer Foundation, or B4BC, a nonprofit group co-founded by professional snowboarder Tina Basich.

The molds were displayed during Tuesday's (October 21) taping of the syndicated talk show "The Sharon Osbourne Show" and caught guest Anthony Anderson's eye.

"I gotta have those at home," said Anderson, star of the WB sitcom "All About the Andersons". "I want to make the first opening bid at $5,000. ... So match that! Somebody match that!"

Osbourne, the wife of former BLACK SABBATH singer Ozzy Osbourne, was treated for colon cancer, which is now in remission. The show with Basich and Anderson airs Thursday (October 23).-- Click Here for the Full Story

Twisted Arnold Reprise
Rockdirt reports: In a recent interview with Perfect Pitch Online, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider described the experience of singing the group's classic 'We're Not Gonna Take It' at an Arnold Schwarzenegger rally in Sacramento earlier this month. "[Arnold] was very gracious and cool," Dee said. "Backstage, we talked about some USO stuff - Twisted's been doing USO, and so has he, and he suggested going to the Middle East together and raising the morale of the troops. I said, 'Dude, I'm there.' I'm a true fan, and I tell you, I've liked this guy for a long time, and he's a man who gets things done. In his book, 'Stay Hungry', he says - and I thought he was just being, I don't know, optimistic - 'When I'm done being the biggest bodybuilder in history, I will then go into real estate. I will make millions. Then I'll go into movies and be the biggest movie star in the world, and then I'll go into politics.' This was written in 1979. And as the years have gone by, I've watched him and gone, 'Holy sh**.' He's a real estate tycoon, became the biggest movie star, and then he married a Kennedy! I thought, 'This bastard's gonna do it!' I saw him at Jesse the Body's inauguration - he was getting ready! I promise the state of California that he's going to do what he says he's going to do. He gets things done. If you don't do the job right, we'll find the Perots and the Bloombergs and the Jesse the Bodys and the Arnold Schwarzeneggers and we'll find somebody who can do it right. We'll fu**ing elect Gopher from 'The Love Boat' if you don't do it right."- Click Here for the Full Story

Slipknot CD 03
siN's metal news reports: Here's an update on SLIPKNOT's recording status from Roadrunner:

"it's real. Slipknot is in Cali right now recording a new album. The whole band - all nine members - living together, and recording where they are living. The man himself behind The Production Gospel According To Dave made a trip to the west coast just last week, and could not stop saying enough good things upon his return. The focus. The fire. The band should be cutting guitars this week. Rick Rubin is producing this beast, and recording should be complete before the end of the year.". -Click Here for the Full Story

Tribute In Chains
Billboard reports: A song Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder wrote about Alice In Chains frontman Layne Staley (news) on the day of his death will be released on "Lost Dogs," the group's upcoming double-disc rarities collection.

The track, dubbed "4/20/02," is not listed on the album but can be found several minutes after "Bee Girl," the last song on the set's second disc. "Lost Dogs" will be released Nov. 11 by Epic, the same day as the concert DVD "Live at the Garden."

"It was a real personal song wrote the night we all found out died," Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard told Billboard.com last year. "He stayed in there, didn't work on anything else, and worked this song up." Added guitarist Mike McCready, "he wrote it in the ukulele tuning, so it had this weird vibe to it, and it was sad."

In the song, Vedder lashes out at the singers of unnamed bands copying the style of Staley, who died after battling drug addiction for years. "So sing just like him, f***ers," Vedder sings. "It won't offend him / just me / because he's dead." The cut features only Vedder on vocals and guitar.

Because of its pointed lyrics and highly personal content, the track was ruled out for potential inclusion on Pearl Jam's 2002 album "Riot Act," according to Gossard. "The record overall has such a universal feel to it, much more so than some of our other records," he said. "Most of the songs are about bigger kinds of things. There was something about that felt like it maybe wasn't right for this particular record." .- Click Here for the Full Story

Many Minutes Silence
The PRP reports: One Minute Silence have decided to go on an indefinite hiatus, a statement was issued on the matter and is as follows:

"Although we are still the best of friends, and cannot rule out the possibility of working together in the future, for now we are dispersing to pursue other projects and interests. We're still in love, we're just not married any more!! There are no musical differences, and no personal conflicts affecting our friendship with each other, just a desire to branch out and explore other areas of life and music.

The band would like to extend their infinite love and respect to those who have championed OMS over the years, whether from within the industry and the media or from without. Your support has been life-giving. An extra-special acknowledgement is due to the people who have come to our shows, and especially to the people in the pit, because without you there would have been no OMS, and without people to listen, music would be meaningless. You rule, we love you, and we miss you already!!

Looking to the future; Yap is going full-throttle into spoken word performances, and he is also working on a number of political and philosophical media projects.

Glen Diani and Massy Fiocco are currently considering and inviting other options.

"Our generation has had no Great Depression, no Great War. Our war is spiritual. Our depression is our lives."

Lotsa Ryan Adams
Billboard reports: A veritable avalanche of material from singer/songwriter Ryan Adams is slated for release over the next few months. And, as Adams paints it, it all comes as a result of disagreements he had with his label, Lost Highway.

On Nov. 4, Lost Highway issues both the acclaimed singer/songwriter's next full-length, "llornkcoR" (rock'n'roll spelled backwards), as well as the EP "Love Is Hell, Part 1." On Dec. 9, the second "Love Is Hell" installment arrives. Both EPs, Adams says, may extend to as many as seven or eight tracks. In addition, Lost Highway is prepping European singles that will feature alternative rock covers and different bonus cuts for the same song. It's unclear at this point whether the singles will be released in North America.

All this, according to Adams, is a somewhat happy ending to a battle he had with Lost Highway over its rejection of the full-length version of "Love Is Hell," an album he calls "the work of my life." Referencing the likes of the Smiths, Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen  and Nick Drake, the album, he says, was dark, doomy and full of what he refers to as "really f***ed up" lyrics. . Urge Overkill Reunite
Billboard reports: After a six-year hiatus, Chicago rock outfit Urge Overkill is making steps toward a reunion, Billboard.com has learned.

Sources say the group -- frontman Nash Kato, bassist Eddie "The King" Roeser and drummer Blackie Onassis -- is eyeing a New Year's Eve show in either Chicago or New York, and may begin work on its first album since 1995's "Exit the Dragon" (DGC).

It is understood that the group does not have a record deal; Urge Overkill began work on a 1997 album for Epic's 550 imprint but was dropped before it was finished. Kato released a solo album, "Debutante," in the spring of 2000 on the now-defunct Will Records. .-Click Here for the Full Story

The Posies Reunite for New CD
Aversion reports: The Posies, who regroup about once every other month, will actually bring new material to the table the next time they reform.

Principles Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow most recently combined their efforts, sort of, for a split EP on the Arena Rock Recording Co. The next time they sit down, it's not for an acoustic tour, a reunion tour or anything else: The duo, with Matt bassist Harris and drummer Darius Minwalla, will record a new album early next year. The as-yet-untitled album doesn't have a label yet, let alone a release date.
