Drake Scores Official Song of the Summer With 'One Dance'

(Radio.com) Drake's single "One Dance" featuring WizKid and Kyla was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 10 weeks and has now officially been crowned the 2016 Song of the Summer.

"One Dance" remained atop the Summer Songs Chart for all 15 weeks it tracked singles between Memorial Day and Labor Day. He marks only the third artist to achieve that kind of win. No other song even had a chance, although Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling" came in second.

As for the other songs who have earned Drake's big 15-week straight win, Iggy Azalea's 2014 single "Fancy" featuring Charli XCX and Katy Perry's 2010 single "California Girls" featuring Snoop Dogg are the only two others songs to stay at number through the entire summer (via Billboard). Corden And Colbert Have Fun With End Of Hiddleswift

(Radio.com) The end of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston's romance has inspired the funny, skeptical, overwrought reactions you'd expect in the age of Twitter, but late night talk show hosts got in on the post-mortems, too.

CBS hosts Stephen Colbert and James Corden each paid their respects to the defunct celebrity union of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston, whose press-heavy summer relationship came to an end this week.

Colbert performed a wistful guitar number called "Taylor Tom and Me (Goodbye Hiddleswift)." "Taylor Tom and Me, we were a happy couple of three/ But now they've said goodbye, and I just want to cry," he sang. "How could you do this to me/ Think of all our memories/ Like kissing on that rock/ or climbing on that rock."

Meanwhile, Corden worked the breakup into his monologue, insisting that Taylor's band would go straight to the studio. Check out the high lights here.

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Reveals Insecurity

(TeamRock) Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong admits that he still has moments of self-doubt when he's not doing anything after laboring over the band for two decades.

Bassist Mike Dirnt recalls how the frontman insisted the trio worked non-stop "for 20 years," practicing six times a week and treating the band "like a vintage sports car" that would rust if they didn't keep it tuned up.

But Armstrong admits his motto wasn't true - and he learned that the hard way - resorting to pills and alcohol to get through the day at his lowest ebb. He has now been sober for four years.

He tells Rolling Stone: "You can't be enthusiastic for the sake of enthusiasm. You have to get out of trying to outdo and one-up yourself all the time.

"We had to break that habit, because suddenly we weren't really being ourselves anymore. I was a little burnt out on being in Green Day. We needed to stop."

Though Armstrong has learned to take the occasional break from the band, he admits that having too much down-time can take its toll on his morale. He says Revolution Radio's first track, Somewhere Now, is about feeling "spiritually broken." Read more here.

In Flames Producer Talks New Album 'Battles'

(Metal Hammer) In Flames producer Howard Benson has praised the Swedish outfit's work ethic while they were in the studio. He was behind the desk for the band's upcoming 12th album Battles, which is set for release on November 11 via Eleven Seven Music.

And although he hadn't worked with them before, Benson reports they've become friends since he helped them on the follow-up to 2014's Siren Charms.

Benson says: "They spent a lot of time writing this record. We decided we were going to focus mostly on the songwriting, then the studio stuff would be pretty easy to do.

"They were really open-minded to putting the time in. In fact, every weekend when they weren't working, they were literally working the entire weekend, writing material. I've got to give the band a lot of credit for that."

Benson calls Bjorn Gelotte "an amazing guitar player" and reports he had fun watching him layering his guitar tracks in the studio, and adds: "I probably worked more with vocalist Anders Friden and I really got to understand his point of view, about what he was talking about.

"I liked the band so much, I actually went to Sweden to visit them a month ago." Watch the trailer here.

Demi Lovato Is Part Owner Of A Rehab Center

(Radio.com) Demi Lovato opens up about her battle with mental health on CBS Sunday Morning in a segment that airs this Sunday (September 11). After attending CAST Centers, a mental health and wellness treatment facility in Los Angeles, in 2013, Lovato decided to become a co-owner.

"I don't know what it says," she admits on the program. "It just feels good." Part of her ownership has to do with the kind of help the Center offered her after she attended it for depression, bulimia and substance abuse.

But part of it has to do with the good Lovato wants to do with her position. "It sounds ridiculous, but I kind of made a pact with God," Lovato says. "And I don't even think you're supposed to do that, but I promised, 'If You make me a singer one day, I'm going to use my voice for so much more than singing, and I'm going to help people with it.'" Kevin Gates Releases 'Time For That' Video

(Radio.com) Where some rappers like to do it up in the club, Kevin Gates takes a more serious turn in his newest music video "Time For That." Throughout the visual, he stands in a blown out house set in a barren landscape to reflect his empty heart.

Whatever event has created the devastated setting in which Gates positions himself must have been a massive one, but it mirrors the emotionally strained nature he feels following a bad relationship. "See girl I'm fine with that/ I done gave my watches away/ Ain't got no time for that/ Asking where's my heart/ Good luck finding that," he raps on the chorus.

The video cuts between wide openif barrennatural settings and a house with its windows blown out, graffiti marking the walls and an utterly damaged look about it. This is not a home, this is not even a house. This is the aftermath of a war zone. Watch it here.

Singled Out: Riley Etheridge Jr.'s Like A Fool

Riley Etheridge Jr. released his new album "Secrets, Hope & Waiting" today (Sept 9th) and to celebrate we asked him to tell us the story behind the song "Like A Fool". Here is the story:

While touring in the fall of 2014, I reconnected with a dear friend who had just gone through a difficult divorce. Having known all of the parties involved, I recognized the divergent perspectives each would present on their narrative. I was deeply moved by her resilience and strength in the face of adversity, and wrote eight songs in an attempt to tell her story, and the versions of the story that each character would represent. The abstract that is included in the album art reads:

"Secrets, Hope and Waiting" is the story of an aging southern beauty queen as she struggles to find resolve in the face of loss and disappointment. The eight songs represent the varied perspectives of our heroine and other characters who shaped her journey over three decades."

"Like a Fool" is the opening song on the record, and the most literal version of our heroine's life story, beginning in McComb, MS in 1983, and resolving in 2014 "driving south" from Nashville, TN. We recorded this track in an old 1910 church in New Orleans, LA, which seemed an appropriate setting to capture the dynamic intended.

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
