She even revealed the diagnosis was so much for her to handle she attempted to commit suicide. Halsey told the mag, "I had tried to kill myself. I was an adolescent. I didn't know what I was doing. Because I was 17, I was still in a children's ward. Which was terrifying. I was in there with 9-year-olds who had tried to kill themselves."
The 21-year-old's downward spiral also had to do with a boy she was "following" around the time of her diagnosis. While she doesn't offer much about the relationship, Halsey says, "I was 17. He was 23, and he had a really serious heroin addiction." Read more here.

In the opening moments, Cuomo sits down at the same table in the same cafe where the young man in "Thank God for Girls" gorged himself on cannolis. Cuomo proceeds to do the exact same thing, as the video flashes back and forth between the two scenes, throwing off an increasingly confused Cuomo, who can't tell reality apart from fantasy.
Then it's off to the beach, where Cuomo twirls with the same female bodybuilder his younger self did in "L.A. Girlz." Things reach a trippy tipping point when Cuomo begins to dig up someone who has been buried in the sand, and that someone turns out to be him sans his iconic glasses. Once the two Cuomos look each other in the eye, one disappears and the newly unburied-and rather shaken-Cuomo stumbles along the beach until he comes across the viral video hitmakers from "Damn, Daniel." Music mogul and the late rapper's best friend Diddy added to the piles of stories by posting a video praising Biggie as the greatest rapper of all time. Diddy also dug into the archives and shared some never-before-seen footage of Biggie in the studio laying down his verses for "Hypnotize."

Mahurin directed "Brace for Impact (Live a Little)", which intersperses shots of a sepia-toned Simpson with animated images that transform before the viewer's very eyes. A young boy lying asleep in bed quickly ages into a skeletal thing; people drudgingly walk step by step in a line while the Grim Reaper waits for them on the other side; and finally a Rapture-esque ending lifts figures into the sky via beams of light.
The images call to mind a hybrid between Salvador Dali's work and the imagery Pink Floyd has used in the past, which works well for a song that has a touch of Pink Floyd about it. "So go and live a little/ Bone turns brittle/ And skin withers before your eyes/ Make sure you give a little/ Before you go to the great unknown in the sky," Simpson sings on the chorus. Houser recently told Radio.com about the song: "'Song Number 7' is just a fun sort of song' I think it's about as poppy of a song as we've cut on this record. It's straight down the middle; it just talks about listening to a record with a girl, and when you get to song number seven's when things heat up usually. So it's fairly simple, and guess what number it is on the album. Number seven."
There's a sense of nostalgia on the album, which also comes out on the song "Senior Year." "'Senior Year' just sorta came about, one night I was sitting with my buddy, Rob Hatch," he said. "I think he was putting his son Henry to bed, and the first lines of the song kind of fell out. I was just playing one of his guitars, and I was just singing the first line, 'Friday night, ride around, make a loop through the Sonic at the edge of town.'"
"That's what we did, on Friday and Saturday nights. I grew up in a little town called Lake Mississippi, and it was so small we would actually go to the next bigger town, which was Forest, Mississippi. And that's you did; the loop was about a half mile and you'd ride to the Sonic, and that's where you turned around. And all you did was you made loops to the Sonic, and then you'd maybe stop at a parking lot of a grocery store and hang out and hide some beers behind the seat." Read more here.
Goulding said, "I don't want girls to get to my age and feel like they're not pretty enough, not thin enough, or they're not good enough for something or someone. I'm naturally compassionate-that's something I really like about myself. I always consider other people before myself, and I think that's what I try to do with my music."
She discussed how her music aims to reach young women. "I want to write lyrics that girls can relate to," she said. "I'm a girl; I know how hard it is' If girls are anything like me when I was a teenager, then I want them to know everything is going to be okay." Read more here.
"When we got married our girls - his girls - were little girls and they had to give permission and so we married each other," she told the hosts of Live with Kelly and Michael.
"The girls wore wedding dresses and we exchanged rings. And so, they're all now grown and in different places and he flew them all into Nashville and they surprised me and walked in with dinner and we all had dinner together Our anniversary is more of a family thing than a romantic thing." One of the measures of a truly great song is how timeless it becomes. As songwriters, it's easy to fall in love with a new composition, much in the way a new romance starts. It's fresh, it's exciting - you feel as if you can take on the world. But as artists, timelessness is measured by audience reaction, not how continuously enamored you are with your own song. So you may have written what you think is a great song, but until it finds an audience, there's no sense of legitimacy to it. Such is the case with our new single, The Real You, which went from being one of my favorite unused songs to being the title track of our new album. It was just waiting patiently for years for the right home.
When I wrote the song, I was still a recent transplant to Boston. What I didn't realize at the time was that finding a new home is isolating, and all the people you depended on for socializing are all a thousand miles away. But while I was ready to connect all the new friends I could find, that was easier said than done. Whether it was my coworkers or other musicians on the scene, people seemed content in staying in their own circle. Or maybe Midwestern temperament is peculiar if you're from the East Coast. Whatever it was, through that longing for connection, I got to be more perceptive of who people really were, and even further than that, I got pretty good at sensing people's emotional baggage as well. I've heard that our core personalities are solidified by the age of seven, and that from a certain perspective, it's actually our life experiences that can get in the way of our true, authentic selves. Well, that's what I was getting from people time and time again: their personal history was preventing me from truly connecting with them.
So that's what I wrote about in this song, and hence the main refrain of the chorus: "...and I'm searching for the real you." I was looking to connect with the best in people, but sometimes what I got was their baggage.
After I finished writing it, I spent a lot of time recording a pretty little demo of it using my home computer. And I was really proud of it. But, all I could do was play it for a few friends, and The Real You needed a BAND behind it. So for years it languished, waiting while I eventually joined different bands, none of which could use the song. Some bands weren't the right genre, while other bands had the insecure lead singer who couldn't do "other people's" songs.
But as luck would have it, my bassist Cory and I eventually found ourselves in need of a new band. In walks Joey, the guy who would eventually become our lead singer. Tall, six feet something, long hair, full beard, already looking like the rock star he is. He says to me that he likes our sound, but, "what was this track on this old Myspace page?" And I thought, "oh yeah, I've forgotten about that song at this point!" And the rest, as they say, is history. I give Joey all the credit for loving the track and championing it from the start. My song is now the band's song, and it's found a home on our new album. Time will tell if the track will really be great, but after all these years, The Real You will finally get its turn.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!

Director Adam Fuchs had this to say, "There was this really great moment that happened before starting the video... I woke up from a deep sleep on my couch to a late night talk show on my TV. They were airing a bit that had a fake Skrillex battle-rapping with Mozart and I was so exhausted, I didn't quite know what I was watching. It was one of the weirdest and most confusing things I've seen in a long time. I knew at that moment, I had to make something that could be viewed in the same way I saw that skit. I hope I accomplished that." Watch the video here.

Sutherland, known for his starring role on the Fox series "24," will bring his debut tour as a musician to 26 venues across the country beginning April 14. More dates will be added.
A professional actor his entire adult life, Sutherland starred in movies like 'Stand By Me', 'The Lost Boys', 'Young Guns', Flatliners', 'A Few Good Men', 'A Time to Kill', 'Dark City', 'Melancholia' and most recently, a western called 'Forsaken' and the upcoming ABC series "Designated Survivor."
Unknown to many during the course of his career, he has taken on other vocations with the same kind of dedication and commitment. In 2002, Sutherland, with his music partner and best friend Jude Cole, began a small record label called Ironworks. The goal of this label was to record local musicians and distribute their music at a time when the music industry was going through a monumental shift. Some of their artists included Rocco DeLuca and the Burden, HoneyHoney and Billy Boy On Poison. In 2009, Sutherland left the label to recharge and figure out what he was going to do next.
In early 2015 Sutherland played Cole two songs he had written and wanted to record as demos for other artists to record. Cole responded positively to the songs and the album grew organically from those recordings. Two songs became four and four grew into six, until Cole suggested that they make a record. Their collaboration resulted in Sutherland's upcoming debut album: Down In A Hole.
"It's the closest thing I've ever had to a journal or diary. All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music. As much as I have enjoyed the writing and recording process, I am experiencing great joy now being able to play these songs to a live audience, which was something I hadn't counted on," Sutherland said of the 11-track album. A track listing and release date will be announced soon. See the tour dates here.
