The Prince-inspired song, "50,000," is a "gloomy ballad" written the week of Prince's death. Sting came up with the melody for the song after reading the pop star's obituary and recalling the times they played stadiums together.
"Mortality does sort of rear its head, particularly at my age-I'm 64," he said. "It's really a comment on how shocked we all are when one of our cultural icons dies: Prince, David [Bowie], Glenn Frey, Lemmy.
"They are our gods, in a way. So when they die, we have to question our own immortality. Even I, as a rock star, have to question my own. And the sort of bittersweet realization that hubris doesn't mean anything in the end." Read more here.
"Later in the year we'll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together," the Blur frontman told BBC Radio 6. "I'm loving it and it's getting there. It should be ready fairly soon."
The new Gorillaz album has been years in the making: The Fall was released in 2011 and last year Albarn described the new material as "really fast." The frenetic energy should return fans to the days of 2005's "Feel Good, Inc." And if Fergie is back with new music, why not Gorillaz? Listen to Albarn's comments here.
James Corden mounted a spoof on The Late Late Show that parodies the leaked phone call at the heart of West Vs. Swift, round 338. Footage from Kim's Snapchat account is recut with new video of Corden asking about Taylor Swift, sending up Kim and Kanye themselves, and poking holes in our absurd election cycle. Even Swift's relationship with Tom Hiddleston got a sly ribbing.
'I don't even know if she's with someone right now," said Corden of the ubiquitous tabloid coupling. "I could check on the internet, but she's super-private about that kind of stuff. She really doesn't let people know what's going on with her personal life, so if I was you, I would just let it go." Watch it here.
"The last year of my life has been one of heartache and healing," she began. "Of learning to be honest . Accepting the flaws and celebrating the smiles. Finding peace in dark places having some moments alone with me.
"Facing fears and feelings All of them. I got to know my guitarsbecame friends with a pencil and paper Used melodies to lead me places I had never been. Made music with my friends. Because music is medicine. This means the world to me. Thank you for joining me on this journey. #vice #musicismedicine."

Jake had this to say about the forthcoming effort, "There are a lot of things on this record that have been said before, but it is the feeling of the songs, the sonic nature of them and the lyrics that will make it different than what people have heard before. I feel a real connection to these songs and it's my hope that other people will too."
It marked the first time the two performed the song together live. As Gomez addressed the audience about how much the song meant to her, roadies wheeled Puth out on stage. He sat in front of a baby grand piano and began teasing listeners with hints of the song before the two jumped right into it.
Although Gomez spent the majority of the song standing at the piano or roaming the stage, she finally took a seat beside Puth near the end. She got cozy on the piano bench, leaning her head on his back and flashing him a big smile before bouncing away across stage again.
For those who insist that musical chemistry must equal physical chemistry, Gomez insisted back in September that Puth was just a friend. A very very good friend. Read more and check out the duet here.

In May, Budden reviewed Drake's newest album Views on his podcast, say Drizzy sounded "uninspired." He then attempted to inspire the Toronto rapper with the diss track "Marking a Murderer (Part 1)," which was followed by a second diss track "Wake."
Things remained relatively quiet until French Montana released his newest track "No Shopping" this past weekend. Drake contributed a verse, on which he raps, "Pump, pump, pump it up/ She got a good head on her, but I pump it up/ I'm not a one hit wonder, they know all my stuff/ You let me turn into the n-- that you almost was." Budden believed Drake was referencing his 2003 single "Pump It Up" and promptly retaliated with the track "Afraid."
In a new interview with MTV News posted Monday, Montana clarifies that Drake didn't have Budden on the brain when he was recording his verse. "I don't think we did that record thinking about Joe Budden," he said. "It's not that I don't think--I know that for a fact." The two were just having fun in the recording booth and weren't thinking about starting anything." Watch the full interview and listen to "No Shopping" here.
