"More than once, I have found myself beside her bed taking notes as she shares things like when the best time to plant the garden will be this spring, how to prune the fruit trees and to make sure we still set aside a percentage of what we make as a tithe each month," her husband Rory Feek tells People magazine.
Feek's daughters from a previous relationship, Heidi, 29, and Hopie, 27, have been spending time with their stepmother, along with the couple's nearly two-year-old daughter Indy.
"Though Joey didn't come into their lives until they were teenagers, my girls love her as their mother and she loves them as her own," Feek adds. Read more here.
The announcement was followed shortly thereafter with additional festival appearances including headlining spots at Barcelona's massive Primavera Sound Music Festival on June 3 and Lisbon, Portugal's NOS Alive Festival on July 8.
A source close to the band has reportedly told COS that the British Alt Rock heroes "plan to headline several music festivals both in America and abroad this summer." This source also indicated that Radiohead will head to North American in July. Read more here.
"I felt like it was going to be a special song when we finished it. Then when we mixed it, it just really came alive," McGraw said in prepared statement. "It's not about being 'my' song or 'my' album or 'my' piece of music or any of those things. I think it's just the message that the world needs.
"The song is so special, we wanted the video to really have a meaning to it and the video to be really universal and worldly and encompass everyone and what the emotion of the song is." Watch the video here.
"I'm unstoppable, I'm a Porsche with no brakes / I'm invincible, I win every single day / I'm so powerful I don't need batteries today / I'm so confident that I'm unstoppable today," confidently assert some of the lyrics. Overcoming vulnerability to face the world is a signature of the notoriously camera- and stage-shy songstress.
When you're a songwriter for some of the biggest names in music like Rihanna and Britney Spears, it's hard to draw the line between where their music ends and yours begins. That's why Sia composed This Is Acting of songs rejected by other artists. Check it out here.
According to PopologyNow, Kanye invited Miley to record the remix immediately following her shocking 2013 MTV VMA performance. The finished product failed to make its way public. Until now, that is.
Miley starts off the track by singing before launching into a sample of Tears For Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World." The "Black Skinhead" remix has a more melodic but simultaneously rougher feel than the original. Rather than relying so heavily on the beat to propel the track forward, Miley's vocals and horns provide an interesting contrast to Kanye's verses. Listen here.
Donny Hathaway is Lalah Hathaway's father. "Little Ghetto Boy" was used by Dr. Dre for his rendition of "Lil Ghetto Boy," from The Chronic. Snoop also appeared on that track as well.
Lalah Hathaway's live recording of 'Little Ghetto Boy," which appears on her Lalah Hathaway Live album, has been nominated for a GRAMMY award this year. Watch the video here.
What changed? "We both had, like, a really, really s-- year in 2015, and we have tattoos to prove it" she said, causing the crowd to laugh. "But we're moving forward." She called the song of her favorites, sharing that she hopes to one day put it on a record.
Lambert's clear voice against Raye's acoustic guitar lends the song a somber quality, but when they come together on the harmonies, it moves everything beyond merely melancholy. Read more here.
LaMontagne also shared the album's first single "Hey, No Pressure." Earlier this week, the singer sent a message (via postcard) to a small group of fans with a preview of the album's new direction.
"I would like to extend to you this humble invitation: to be among a select few of my listening audience to hear a passage from my latest composition titled 'Ouroboros'.
"'Ouroboros' is an album musically unlike any I have recorded previously. It did not make itself known to me in sections, sessions, or moments carved out of the clutter of every day life. It presented itself as the simple question: 'Will you follow me?" Read more here.
The collaboration has been rumored since last fall, but Ronson confirmed the news in an interview with The Evening Standard: "We worked together in London," the "Uptown Funk" hitmaker said.
"I think she's incredibly talented and kind of a muso at heart beyond all the giant pop hits. "I would love to work some more with her - she's an incredible singer-songwriter." Read more here.
