"Chris [Martin] was wanting to write a sort of party song," Coldplay's bassist Guy Berryman described the tune to BBC's Annie Mack. "The lyrics included the phrase 'Drinks on me, drinks on me.' And we said to him, 'You can't say that. You can't get away with that.'
Then the whole story of the song changed and then he asked Beyonce to sing on it, and she very kindly said she would. And it was amazing. She came in. She did her thing. She's unbelievably professional. I think she was in and out in five minutes." Watch the video here.
Malik had previously promised that the single would take a "dirty and raw" approach to sex. "Everybody has sex, said the singer in a recent interview, "and it's something people want to hear about.
"It's part of everybody's life, a very big part of life! And you don't want to sweep it under the carpet. It has to be talked about." Zayn Malik, fighting the good fight. Well, the song is NSFW, but you can listen to it, and watch the video, here.
Rather than let the two continue jabbing each other onlinea practice The Game recently pointed out spawns Instagram rants, memes and more digital dramaSpringer has another idea.
Advocating for the old school confrontational route, Springer tweeted that Kanye, Wiz and Amber Rose too should appear on his show to work things out. The tweet may have been entirely in jest, but it could prove to be the balm Kanye and Wiz need to settle their differences. Read more here.
The Jan. 30 stop at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino and a Jan. 31 show at the Farmington Civic Center Ballroom will both be refunded at their point of purchase.
In December, Haggard was hospitalized with double pneumonia and had to cancel a string of shows. According to his son, Ben, who posted in message on Twitter, his father is still recovering from that bout of illness and has not come down with pneumonia again. See the tweet here.
Bieber and his crew were traveling in a black SUV when they heard a woman shouting. It turns out that she'd been knocked off her bicycle. Although Bieber wasn't there at the time she was hit, bystanders told police she'd been involved in a hit-and-run (via TMZ).
Bieber tried to comfort the woman while his friends called the police. Today (Jan. 29), Bieber re-tweeted the story, saying what he did was nothing special and that any good samaritan would have done the same thing. Read more here.
Last week the singer posted a video to Instagram captioned, "So how do you spend your time now that the tour is over?" In the clip, Swift cuddles up with her beloved (and famous in her own right) cat, Meredith Grey.
The 1989 World Tour wrapped last month in Melbourne with cumulative receipts of more than $250 million. Whatever big things are in store for the post-1989 phase of Taylor's career, she doesn't seem too bothered about them for the moment. Next month, Swift will need to motivate herself to get off the couch and head to the GRAMMY Awards, where she'll compete for seven trophies. Watch the video here.
"The Roc Nation [Rihanna's management] team got in touch with us here at Spinning Top letting us know that Rihanna loved the Tame Impala track 'New Person, Same Old Mistakes'.
"They asked if she could cover the song for her new record. "Kevin was more than happy to send it her way. We're all really happy with how the song turned out, love it!" the statement reads. Read more here.
"When we found out we had made it through the first round of auditions, they asked us what our stage name was going to be," Feek writes. "I told Joey that I think we should tell them 'Joey+Rory,' because that's what it actually was' You + Me = whatever this is going to be."
He goes on to say that one plus one does not equal two, there's something more important in the equation: "Without know it, what we were actually adding into the equation that day in 2008' was God. It was faith that we added - a willingness to trust Him and be okay with whatever He had in store. I think that's where the power is. There's nothing magical about Joey and I together. We bring our skills and talents into this union, but God brings the magic. He takes those gifts and adds in His timing and mixes it with all the years of joy and hardship and smiles and pain we've had' and He makes something bigger." Read more here.
As part of the initiative, select military families will be treated to a personal meet-and-greet with Underwood at 10 stops on her upcoming Storyteller Tour. "I'm honored to be able to join Carnival Cruise Line and Operation Homefront to lift up these soldiers and their families," said Underwood.
"I am really looking forward to meeting them on my tour and for the opportunity to personally thank them for all they do for our freedom." Read more here.
While many women live with endometriosis, Halsey says she hopes shining a light on her experience will make it easier for others to be diagnosed correctly.
"I know how excruciatingly painful it can be and how discouraging the disease can be," she wrote in a Twitter message. "To feel like it's gonna limit you because of how debilitating it is. To miss school and work, or even worse to GO and suffer through it anyway feeling like a prisoner in your own body."
She went into further detail about the doubts and fears the condition prompts about pregnancy and childbirth. Read more here.
Late last week (Jan. 29), Akon released a new track, "Hypnotized," which follows in the footsteps of his other newer releases "Want Some" and "Stick Around."
"Hypnotized" has a definite tropical feel that blends traces of reggae, cumbia and electronica to form something well suited to summer. On the chorus, Akon plays with the cadence to mirror the song's rhythm. "Why you gotta feel so right/ Why you gotta, why you gotta, leave me open, why/ Love it when you love me right/ Why you gotta, why you gotta, take over my mind/ Every time," he sings, drawing out the last syllable. Check it out here.
The video features Staples appearing off balance throughout various scenes shifting back and forth between, concrete, ground, water and air, while suspended throughout the video.
Although in the final scene, he's grounded Does that mean he was never actually "lifted up?" You be the judge. Staples is about to kick off the second leg of his Circa '06 tour on February 26 in San Francisco. Watch the video here.
In the NSFW track, he begins by announcing, "Location: Toronto! Status: Five star hotel, Four Seasons"; he's essentially saying that he would get the best accommodations in Drake's hometown, despite their long standing rivalry.
He also reminds listeners why the conflict started in the first place: over Mill's claims that Drake uses a "ghostwriter"; in other words, he hires someone to write his lyrics for him. "You ain't writin', na, we caught ya, can't erase that s, now you claiming you Hov now, why you stake that s?" He's pointing out that if Drake doesn't, in fact, write his own lyrics, that it's ridiculous to compare himself to Jay Z (aka Hov), as Jay is regarded as one of the best lyricists ever.

Rose then weighed in with a NSFW dig regarding Kanye's sexual preferences. It seemed that her mic-drop-worthy tweet got under his skin, and early Friday morning (January 29) he responded.
In his first of two tweets, he said "Exes can be mad," but stressed that "I never let them" perform the act that Rose claimed to perform on him. "Let" is an unusual choice of words here, as one tweeter pointed out. In the same tweet, West stressed, "I stay away from that area all together."
In the second tweet, he noted--and we're paraphrasing his NSFW choice of words here--"That sort of activity is not the kind of thing that I do." He concluded by saying--and we quote--"I like pictures and videos Me and my wife got the kind of love that can turn exes into best friends." Yes, he capitalized "Me" but not "my wife."
