The boy band's 2000 release, "No Strings Attached", sold 2,416,000 sales to establish the single-week record for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991.
Prior to 1991, there was no authoritative music sales tracking service in the US and so it was mostly unknown how many copies of an album or song/single were sold in a single week.
To date, "25" is on track to capture an estimated 42 percent of recorded music sales this week. Adele's unprecedented domination with "25" has forced music industry forecasters to readjust their original estimate of 2.9 million copies sold this week to an even 3 million. Read more here.
Bieber didn't explain exactly why he needed to nix his appearance. Instead, he mysteriously wrote to Colbert on Twitter, "sometimes life kicks our a-." Bieber was set to perform at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade this Thursday (Nov. 26), Billboard reports that appearance may also be canceled.
There's no clarification on what exactly is kicking Bieber's butt these days, but the pop star has been on a fierce promotional tour surrounding the release of his newest album Purpose on November 13th. Read more here.

In the artwork for the new song, released Monday (Nov. 23), there is a scoreboard with Streets vs. Geeks. Under the "Streets" team, there is 3 points on the board and a character of a scowling bad boy child with hat cocked to the side. Under the "Geeks" side is an image of the wise owl licking a lollipop from the decades-old Tootsie Pop campaign.
The owl, of course, is also the symbol of Drake's OVO brand. Back in September, Sauce Twinz jumped into the Drake-Mill beef with a remix to "Back to Back" titled 'Wack To Wack," in which he went at Drake for "Stealing H-Town culture" and letting another man "pee on him."

In a recent interview with The Scottish Sun (via NME) O'Neill said that he got wind of their breakup from his cousin who had read an interview with Del Rey.
"It all happened when I went to London, as she was staying for a few days," O'Neill said. "But she couldn't stay as she had to do a big interview in America for her new album which was coming out. I was just chilling out in the hotel and out the blue, I got a message."
He says he was blindsided by the news. "Sorry that you and the missus have broken up," his cousin's text message read. "I was like 'That's news to me-where did you hear that?' And it was on this website. I'm thinking, It's a load of s- and gossip. But it wasn't. That's how I found out." Read more here.
If you were unaware, Pusha T is the new president of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music, and during the interview, he ran down the label priorities to hosts Rap Radar hosts Elliott Wilson and Brian (B. Dot) Miller.
"This is my wish list, it's all about getting out my album--these two albums--getting out a Big Sean album," he said. "And my wish list is getting out a Cruel Summer album Part Two."
Cruel Summer, the G.O.O.D. Music collabo album featuring all-star cast of Kanye West, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, John Legend, and more--was released in 2012.
When Wilson asked Pusha why Cruel Summer failed to sell well, given the album's star power, Pusha pointed to the free records they shared with fans each Friday during the crew's "G.O.O.D. Music Fridays" promotion.
"I think we gave away all the records," he said. "What people don't realize is, I love that record. I love that album. It was a top representation of G.O.O.D. Music as a whole. And it was great rap s***. But we started a thing with the G.O.O.D. Friday thing and we couldn't turn it off." Read more and listen to the full interview here.
The Eatonton, Georgia, resident had to travel to Houston, Texas, for her six-week installment of radiation but was most upset that she missed seeing Hunt.
On Wednesday (Nov. 18), a local photographer aptly named Brandy Angel secured three tickets for Cadence, her mother and her sister to attend Hunt's performance at the Morgan County Cultural Center. The blessings didn't stop there, Cadence also got to meet Hunt.
"Sam was absolutely amazing with Cadence and gave her memories she will never forget. He told her she was beautiful and she won best dressed for the night," Angel told the TV station. "He signed her hat and made her feel so special and he probably has no idea how much good he did through that small act." Read more here.

Holm met Jay-Z and Beyonce backstage at the fight between Miguel Cotto and Canelo. Holm explained the awkward moment, saying, 'I meet Jay Z and he says, 'This is my wife,' and I'm like, 'Oh, hi, what's your name? Because that's what I do when I meet someone's wife."
She continued, "And as I'm shaking her hand, I'm thinking, 'Why did I just say that? Why did I just say that to Beyonce?' And then Jay Z's asking me about the fight and I can't even focus on what he's saying because I just put my foot in my mouth. I literally have to interrupt him. I'm like, 'I'm really sorry,' and I go back to Beyonce and I'm like, 'I can't believe I just did that.' She goes, 'Oh no, it's fine.' I'm like, 'No, I really, really'it's such an honor to meet you.'" Adele revealed that her first attempt at her third album was not met with positive vibes during a preview meeting with her manager and legendary producer Rick Rubin.
"They just weren't feeling it," explained Adele. "Rick said 'I don't believe you.' He wasn't being mean. He was like, 'If you want to put this out you can put it out but I don't believe you.' And he was a huge part to do with my second album, '21.'
"I didn't love the record. It was songs, not the record. It was just some songs I was writing for this record." Asked by Fallon if she rewrote or scrapped the songs they three weren't thrilled with, Adele said "No, they're away, they're hiding; they've been banished. They're not allowed. They weren't good enough." Watch video of her appearance here.
