Some fans apparently felt that his inclusion of Aaliyah was disrespectful, according to ABC Radio. The rapper tweeted, "I'm still tryin to figure out how ppl feel I dissed Aaliyah. I was talkin bout how ppl turn into WBC anytime somebody mentions her name." The new mixtape includes 20 songs and features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, The-Dream, Yo Gotti, Bun B, Big K.R.I.T, Migos and K Camp and more
"I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people's happiness--and that was mainly the fans," Malik said. "And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them. And basically, I'm only upset I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way. That's the main thing that I don't want to happen. It's not that I've turned my back on them or anything, it's just that I just can't do that anymore because it's not real to me." He added that there was no bad blood within One Direction that caused him to leave, and doesn't think any of the remaining four members plan on doing the same. "When I was there as well, we were all' there were no contingencies, do you know what I mean?" he said. "It was always just everyone kind of doing what we were doing and that's why it's been really good for me, because I feel it's been a bit different to what other bands have broke up by, or when a member's left or whatever. "My band has been really supportive. They've been really cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it's not real to me anymore. They still want to do it for a while, so they're going to carry on doing what they want to do. And I think they're doing to do OK for a while. I think they're going to be cool." He also discussed his future plans. Read about that here.
Early in the night, Kenny kicked into his 2003 hit "Big Star," about the hard work and perseverance of "Garth Brooks in a skirt." After completing the first verse and chorus, the arena erupted when Taylor Swift took the stage to sing the second first and finish out the song. As Kenny sang the lyrics, he pointed to Taylor, and the pair exchanged high fives, hugs and even a kiss on the forehead during the song. They even pulled a little girl--no older than 8 years old--from the audience, hugged her and then walked her backstage at the end of the song. "Happy Birthday, Kenny Chesney," Taylor said upon her exit, adding, "I love you Nashville!" Taylor wasn't the only one to wish the 47-year-old a happy birthday over the course of the night. At numerous points, the crowd started unorganized attempts to sing "Happy Birthday" and the little girl who got to hug both Kenny and Taylor during "Big Star" had made it up to hug just Kenny before that performance after holding a sign that read, "Happy birthday, Kenny! Can this 'Wild Child' have a hug?" Kenny even made a joke about how great it was to being playing Music City on his birthday before laughing, "You only turn 27 once." He told the audience that his parents and sister were able to make the show, as well as close family and friends.
The album will also include guest appearances from former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and up-and-coming pop singer Kiesza. The band has also signed a worldwide deal with Warner Bros. Records. "We could not be happier to be making this deal with Warner Bros., and are looking forward to working on our forthcoming album release with not only their US team but also everyone else within the Warner family around the world," bassist John Taylor said in a press release. "We are also excited that this deal means we will be reunited with our catalogue after years apart-and in that sense it really feels a little like coming home." Read more here.
Now, the only place you can hear the song is in video from that particular Colbert performance. Terrace Martin, who produced eight tracks on To Pimp A Butterfly, gave an interview to Complex Magazine explaining that the song isn't coming out any time soon. He claims that the song was written specifically for that performance, with the intention of creating "just a moment." There are no studio masters of the song available anywhere. Read more here.
So a local radio station set them up with some money and a first-dance wedding song--and, like many weddings probably will from here on out, the first dance was to Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud." Except it wasn't just a basic studio performance done by the wedding DJ pressing play. Sheeran and his guitar take the stage during an Australian couple's wedding to play the little ditty, much to their delight. See the video here.
According to Vanyaland, the creepy clip was inspired by an online image of the Teletubbies in black and white that makes the normally cheerful creatures look downright terrifying. That's when Christopher Brown of Boston-based rock band Vary Lumar was moved to create an equally creepy black and white music video of the Teletubbies using "Atmosphere" as the soundtrack. Stripped on color, the Teletubbies joyful romp through fields looks more like an abstract horror film than a children's TV show. Joy Division singer Ian Curtis' mournful vocals over the band's dramatic music pushed the whole thing into the realm of a music video for David Lynch's bleak 1977 classic Eraserhead. Watch it here.
"We're linking up and we just decided to buy Karmaloop," Dash says in one of the videos. "We were just talking about so it's going to happen. A couple of other cool things: we ain't doing no music unless that's for fun, right? Only big baller stuff." West agrees and give him a bro hug as the clip ends. "It's real," Dash says to assures both himself and the audience. But wishing doesn't simply make it so, the Boston Business Journal reports. "As we confirmed earlier this week, Kanye and Dame are among several people we've spoken with about Karmaloop." Read more here.
Written by J.T. Harding, Josh Osborne and Trevor Rosen, "Sangria" is a song about seduction, coupling a laid-back groove with lyrics that leave little to the imagination. We're buzzing like that no vacancy sign out front / Your skin is begging to be kissed by a little more than the sun / You take my hand in yours, you lean in and / Your lips taste like sangria The accompanying "Sangria" video matches the lusty mood of the songand takes things even further. It begins in the bar of what looks like an upscale resort, showing a young couple who may or may not have just met but are obviously enamored with each other. They stare into each others' eyes, they touch, and then before you know it they're in the hallway kissing. As the friskiness escalates, they eye an open room (presumably theirs?), head inside and shut the door. Now in many a country music video, what happens next would be implied. In "Sangria," however, we step right into the room with the two lovers, watching as they pull off clothes and get down to business, lips to lips and skin to skin. Yes, the "Sangria" video is risque. But that's not all--there's something unsettling about it, too. Read more and watch the video here.
In the clip, we get a couple left turns, first when the scenes of the horror and heroism of war gets unexpectedly romantic, and then again, when the war turns out to be not what it appears. Dream Your Life Away is currently available via Atlantic Records. "Georgia" follows previously successful singles "Riptide" and "Mess Is Mine." Watch the video here.
