The premiere single, produced by Tricky and The Dream, titled Gangsta Luv is a melodic catchy and feel-good record. The video, directed by Paul Hunter, is vibrant hued and entertaining with Snoop in the backseat of a Dream-chauffeured Cadillac driving through many different unexpected and hilarious scenarios. "I had to introduce the album with part of the 'Wonderland' side - I wanted to have fun with this one - both in the studio and in the video," says Snoop. "This is the first release for Priority Records and as the new Creative Chairman, as well as an artist on the label, it was only right to celebrate the re-launch with a feel-good anthem."

Based on the best-selling Baby Taylor guitar, the TSBT is ideal for both promising players and accomplished pickers. At three-quarters the size of a standard dreadnought, with a slim 1 11/16-inch neck and a comfortably compact shape, the guitar is just right for both the littlest player's hands and anyone who likes to pick up and play on the go. With the new model, Swift hopes to inspire others to express themselves through music. "I wanted to share my passion for playing guitar with my fans," she says. "For a beginner, finding the right guitar can be intimidating, but this guitar, it's the perfect size. Even if you've been playing for years, it's a great size to travel with." The TSBT is crafted from a resilient sapele laminate body with a solid Sitka spruce top. Swift's design, which encircles the guitar's soundhole, features her well-known expression "Love, Love, Love" among delicate vines. The design also commemorates the songwriting spirit and success of her latest album, Fearless, whose title is inscribed above the bridge along with her signature. - more on this story
In this stunning concert, originally released as a single DVD on May 26 (Eagle Rock), Diana Krall captivated the crowd through eighteen evocative tunes, which are all standards interpreted through her unique style. Classics like "Too Marvelous For Words," "I've Grown Accustomed To His Face," and "Walk On By," are imbued with her sumptuous blend of jazz, samba, and bossa nova. Many of these songs were from her recently released Quiet Nights album (Verve, Spring 2009), on which she explored her long fascination with bossa nova. On this night in Rio de Janeiro, filmed in November of 2008, Krall allows her passion for this music to flourish in the city which inspired her love of latin styles, while accompanied by her band and an orchestra. This special edition 2DVD set features not only the bonus material from the standard DVD ("Conversations," an interview with Krall and her band, and "The Boy From Ipanema" promotional film), but a second disc with extra live material recorded in Canada, Spain and Portugal. The 5-track "Rooftop Sessions," which was only available on the Blu-ray release (ERE, May 26), and the promotional film for Quiet Nights completes the disc. Live In Rio: Special Edition captures Diana Krall at her scintillating best. - more on this story

These days it's rare to see a UK based electronic music come over to the US for a proper show. Sure, there are DJ sets and "live" laptop sets but is that really what it's all about? 2020Soundsystem are taking a cue from all the great live electronic artists who used to tour the United States back in the 90's. That is, 2020Soundsystem reinterprets Falling live with 2020Vision honcho Ralph Lawson on the decks, Danny 'Dubble D' Ward on drums and Argentinean duo Fernando Pulichino and Julian Sanza (AKA Silver City) on bass and keyboards, respectively. Simply put, 2020Soundsystem are one of the best live bands in electronic music. Since the release of their debut album No Order 2020Soundsystem have played the world's finest international festivals, and more recently, they've taken the USA by storm. The band has created a whole scene in the states without even realizing it and now they now play to massive crowds at festivals such as Camp Bisco and Rothbury and have clocked up 27 shows in 16 cities in the last year alone. - more on this story
A former ninth-grade language arts teacher on the largest reserve in Canada - The Kanai Nation, part of the Blackfoot Confederacy John Wort Hannam heard a Loudon Wainwright III album in 1997 and became enthralled with the music and stories. After buying a guitar and learning some chords, he quit teaching in 2002 and set out on the road pursuing his dream of becoming a working musician. Queen's Hotel is Wort Hannam's fourth full-length CD and second release for Black Hen Music. His last album, Two-Bit Suit, was released in 2007 and produced by Juno award-winner Steve Dawson, who again takes the helm producing 11 tracks of authentic Canadiana folk/roots music on the new CD. The writing, although true to John's narrative story-telling style, is tighter, smarter, more personal, and with a breadth of subject matter not seen on previous recordings. The upbeat "With the Grain" (a song for which Wort Hannam won Grand Prize at the 2009 Calgary Folk Music Festival Songwriting Competition) recalls the conversation where John tells his father he would quit teaching to attempt a shot at performing music. - more on this story
Heap released the critically acclaimed Ellipse (RCA Records) in late August. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on the Internet Album Chart and #2 on the Digital Album chart. The release is Heap's first Top 5 record and marks her highest-ever chart position. Heap began writing the 13 tracks featured on Ellipse the same day she finished her tour for Speak For Yourself, her breakthrough 2005 album. The songs on Ellipse began to take shape on the road as Heap traveled from Hawaii, Fiji, Tasmania, Japan, China and Thailand. The artist then returned home to London, where she continued work on the record. Remaining true to her do-it-yourself ethos, she built her new studio in the "playroom" of her old family home (an 18th century 'oval villa' restored by her parents) on the outskirts of London.

You Dig the Tunnel, I'll Hide the Soil is Hatcham Social's debut album. Recorded at big mushroom studios in the north of England with the Charlatans singer Tim Burgess and Jim Spencer at the controls this is a spiky, sparky collection of itching pop tunes which hark back to a time of musical innocence. Live favourites 'So So Happy Making' and 'Penelope (under my hat)' make a reappearance but other than those old lags this is a set of brand new songs highlighted by the tetchy lead off single 'Murder in the Dark', the exotic spoken word dramatics of Jabberwocky' and the frankly terrific summer-anthem-in-waiting 'Sidewalk'.
The "Live A Fip" CD release was a natural extension of Bethany & Rufus' collaborations with Jean-Baptiste and Moumouni. Bethany & Rufus, who share the same label with Moumouni, also shared the stage with him for one song during the 10th anniversary celebration of Daqui Records. They knew instantly that their political beliefs and musical chemistry would bond them together, catapulting them forward with continued performances. The trio became a quartet when 'Bonga' Jean-Baptiste was invited to perform with them the following summer at Les Nuits Atypique. During a promotional radio spot for the festival on Radio France in March 2009, the quartet was asked to perform live on the Live A Fip radio series, and the rest is history. The Bethany & Rufus Roots Quartet's Live A Fip CD's strength lies not just in each artist's singular talents, but in their capacity to combine their abilities in a way that complements each member of the group to bring about a sound that is unique and groundbreaking, while incorporating concerns about global injustices, violence, and inequalities. Live A Fip is the product of a world where people and societies are interconnected, converging, and in turmoil.

The two MC's and producer came together for a special project, Uzi Does It, an album with tracks produced by Apathy and Scoop, who also lends his own signature vocal swagger to many of the songs. Their debut album, Uzi Does It, will be released for pre-sale album download on October 27th at www.getbusycommittee.com and available on iTunes and other outlets on November 10th. This album is unlike any rap album you've heard before. So, if you were expecting some of the boring two-sample verse/chorus nonsense hip-hop, it won't be here. There is no forced song structure and a variety of interesting topics on the album. The record is hip-hop, served straight up. Full of songs and songwriting, heartfelt stories of life in LA, a life of music, partying, late nights on the Sunset Strip, and coke. Apathy describes on 'Chillin Out Maxin', "I used to love Easy-E, BBD, BDP, so I mixed it all up what you get? GBC."
