Susan Boyle caught the attention of the world when she stepped up onto the stage in front of a mocking Simon Cowell, a man who embodies the image over substance problem the music business faces today. But all of the snickering ended as she sang the first note. Her raw talent won over that audience but it apparently has won over music fans world wide with her debut album "I Dreamed a Dream" setting a record in her native UK but more importantly, becoming the biggest selling first week release in the US for 2009, despite not having the benefit of a full season of the popular television show for exposure and publicity. She also set a record in New Zealand as fastest selling worldwide female debut ever, according to 3news. Hits Double Daily's final chart shows that Boyle's album sold 669,843 copies in the U.S. last week and that number tops Eminem's "Relapse" which sold 608,000 units its first week.

Hits Double Daily compiled their sales numbers for last week and they show that Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" sold 195,974 copies its first week in stores. Lambert was the runner up on American Idol last season he lands in third place among runners up when it comes to first week sales. Clay Aiken's "Measure of a Man" moved 613,000 copies while Bo Bice sold 227,000 of "The Real Thing" it's first week, an album that many considered a failure. And will all the hype and media coverage Lambert enjoyed, coupled with Amazon selling digital copies of his album for 3.99 last week, the flamboyant Idol runner-up only managed to sell slightly more copies than last year's runner-up David Archuleta who had first week sales of 183,000.

The sharp-dressed band just returned from an impressive run opening for Maroon 5, wowing audiences repeatedly with their blue-eyed soul stompers. "I went to a Maroon 5 performance Wednesday night, and a Fitz & the Tantrums concert broke out," exclaimed the Peoria Journal Star. Prior to their recent jaunt, Fitz & the Tantrums stopped at KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" for an electrifying live session. Three of those powerful tracks are included in the bonus package, along with Keenhouse's remix of "Breakin' The Chains Of Love," which transforms the song from a suave shuffling soul joint into a synth-fueled electro jam.
