Michael Jackson's Mom May Sue For Wrongful Death
AP reports: An attorney for Michael Jackson's mother says she is considering a wrongful death lawsuit because of the circumstances surrounding her son's demise, and that the singer's personal physician is a likely target.

The idea is still nascent and Dr. Conrad Murray is the main name that's been mentioned, attorney Burt Levitch said Monday, following a court hearing where a judge approved a merchandising deal that will benefit the King of Pop's estate.

"The possibility of a wrongful death action has been floated," Levitch said. "In that regard, no decision has been finalized ... Dr. Murray's name has been floated because he is under investigation." - more on this story

Little Girls Are Coming
PR reports: Toronto group Little Girls aka Josh McIntyre and co. are excited to announce the release of debut and proper album, Concepts, on Paper Bag Records on October 13th.

After word started circulating earlier this year via some early blog attention from songs discovered on the band's MySpace and the subsequent release of their Tambourine EP and 12" on Brooklyn label Mexican Summer, the band are eager to showcase their history and unique sound. Concepts' eleven tracks span from the very first Little Girls track ever written to brand new material. The album was recorded only at night in a home studio with most of the songs contributing to an ongoing theme of 'growing up.'

It all started when McIntyre recorded a few songs in his home studio as a side project in early 2009. Seeking the unbiased opinions from friends and musical peers he anonymously posted the music on the internet under the name "Little Girls," a name he believed least likely to reveal his identity. His influences come from the 80's no-wave post-punk scene, and the early 80's golden era of hip-hop. Equally influential are the late hip-hop artist J. Dilla, as well as Can, Joy Division, Wire, and The Clean. - more on this story

K'Jon Debut A Hit
Audible Treats reports: K'Jon scored one of the most impressive R&B crossover debuts of the year, with his new Universal Republic album I Get Around landing in the Top 15 of the Billboard Top Albums chart this week.

The eye-opening debut, logging in at # 12 and # 5 on the R&B chart, is due in large part to the Detroit native's epic first single, "On The Ocean," which already reigns as one of 2009's smash hit dual-qualifiers - a certified radio and club smash.

The classic single owned the nightlife grid for months as a popular 'stepping' song before becoming one of the most requested urban radio hits of the year. "On The Ocean" locked the #1 spot at the Urban AC format for more than a month, with radio listeners and online music followers extending the grassroots wave stirred by the song's soulful message of perseverance. "On The Ocean" was also a multiple format radio-record breaker, making the biggest vault to #1 in BDS-based chart history, overtaking the previous high-water mark set by superstar Alicia Keys with her 2001 classic "Fallen." - more on this story

Brooke Waggoner Goes Soph
PR reports: Brooke Waggoner returns on November 3rd with her second full-length album titled Go Easy Little Doves. All twelve songs on the album were not only written and composed by Waggoner, as with her previous releases, but Go Easy Little Doves was entirely self-produced.

With Go Easy Little Doves, Waggoner expands and surrounds her sound with lush orchestration, moving melodies and introspective lyrics. Waggoner's new album begins with two instrumental songs "Query" and "Ruminate" which beautifully fade into the title track "Go Easy Little Doves, I'll Be Fine." The album plays more like a symphony rather than a standard pop release. Songs such as "Chromates Soft Love" and "Find Her Floods" reveal dynamics that could be suitably described as cinematic.

Waggoner describes the process of writing the material for the album and inspiration by commenting, "This is a collection of music I've wanted to record correctly for a very long time. Some of the songs were written over ten years ago. And some were written the night before I was scheduled to record. The project is full of Q&A, pensiveness, elasticity, and romance. It truly follows my story from beginning to its current state. This is the one I've always dreamt of making." - more on this story

Lights Debuts in October
PR reports: Warner Bros Records is proud to announce the October 6, 2009 release of The Listening, the debut full-length album from Lights.

The Toronto singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist crafts her own brand of sparkling, otherworldly electro-pop that is, in her words "soft, but not pussy-soft, you know?" Lights' songs have already garnered almost 16 million plays on MySpace, and she has racked up a #1 hit on MuchMusic, inclusion in a series of Old Navy commercials, and airtime on The Hills. On the strength of her self-titled EP alone, Lights won the 2009 Juno (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy Award) for New Artist of the Year, joining the ranks of Feist and Nelly Furtado.

During her stint on this summer's Van's Warped Tour Rolling Stone selected Lights as one of four Warped Tour Buzz Bands, calling her a "retro new wavekeytar-rocking pixie." - more on this story
