The drives were in the "Thriller" singer's rented Holmby Hills, Calif., mansion when he died suddenly in June. Hours afterward, the family descended on the house to claim all its contents, and LaToya grabbed the drives, Rolling Stone said, quoting the late singer's manager, Frank DiLeo. It's got everything - drama, a strong soapy element, a sort of happy ending, plus Simon Cowell has a history of doing this sort of thing - and maybe that's why Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson are being unusually cagey about the whole affair, as E! Online reports: On his radio show this morning, Seacrest said Abdul's departure was real"as far as I know." Jackson, meanwhile told Extra, "It looks to be true [emphasis added]." Alright, it's not exactly Area 51 territory, but it does give us hope that maybe - just maybe - Paula Abdul will return to American Idol.

The word "we" shows itself in nearly every phase of D.Black's forthcoming sophomore album, Ali'Yah, creating a theme of community; music for everyone. His motivational messages, combined with smooth, flowing rhymes and a classic soul feel, not to mention impeccable production, build to the song "Yesterday." The tune, produced by both D.Black and B. Brown, is an anthem for looking forward; letting go of yesterday's evil. D.Black says, "On a more spiritual level, it means to not look back, by which you'd be giving life again to the evil nature that works contrary to pure spirit."

There was a time when house music meant something. Back in the day, it wasn't just a fun night out dancing or hitting a place just to be seen. No, the house music that Chicago's Frankie Knuckles and New York City's Danny Krivit ushered into the world was about something more. Perhaps there was more heart and soul in the music or maybe it was something even deeper back then. The house music these two legends purveyed united people under one roof in a way that had never been done before. Black, Latino, White, straight, gay all enjoying the diverse sounds together. This is where inspiration is made. This is the kind of scene that ignites other scenes abroad. And so here we are in 2009computers replaced tape and turntablesmusic is missing that depth. Nervous Records feels that need and called on these house music pioneers to bring it one more time. This September 22 marks the Nervous Records release of Danny Krivit 718 Sessions while Frankie Knuckles Motivation Too drops on October 20. It's the latest and greatest battle between The Big Apple and The Second City!
