Amazon Music is excited to announce that Grammy-winning, multi-platinum selling rock band Kings of Leon will kick off the new season of City Sessions, the new livestreamed concert series from Amazon Music. Streaming live from the Copperline Ranch in Nashville, the premiere episode of City Sessions' new season will capture a special concert from the iconic rock group on the eve of the release of their 9th studio album, Can We Please Have Fun, out May 10 on Capitol Records.
Kings of Leon's City Sessions show represents a homecoming of sorts for the group. Can We Please Have Fun was recorded at Dark Horse studio in their hometown of Nashville with new producer Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Florence + the Machine). The new album captures a new side of Kings of Leon that harkens back to their gritty origins while simultaneously finding new gears, and their City Sessions performance will provide a rare look at one of this era's greatest rock groups cutting loose in front of their fans and family. Candlebox have at least one final act, after all. The group has revealed that they will unveil A Little Longer Goodbye (Tour Edition), the digital deluxe version of the album The Long Goodbye, on all DSPs Friday, July 12 via Round Hill Records. The digital release will feature the 12 tracks on the record plus two bonus live songs, including "Elegante" and "Cellphone Jesus" (Recorded at Club Amanda in Santiago, Chile on October 27, 2023), as well as the official launch of the single "Washed Up."
"The response to The Long Goodbye has been so great that we decided to stick around a little longer; add some bonus live material. We are so happy to be able to kick out the jams a little bit longer," said Candlebox Frontman Kevin Martin. As he approaches the landmark of his 3000th show, on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, acclaimed singer-songwriter Frank Turner embarked on the first-ever Music Venue Trust world record attempt where he performed the most official shows in different cities in 24 hours.
In this timeframe, Turner played 15 solo shows, with each set running for a minimum of 20 minutes, and every performance was held at an independent venue, ticketed by an independent record shop. The previous record was held by Hunter Hayes with 10 shows, and before that it was The Flaming Lips with eight. (continue)

Peterborough, Ontario punk rockers Cross Dog are gearing up to release their new album "All Hard Feelings" next month, and to celebrate we asked vocalist Tracy A to tell us about the single "Hard Feelings". Here is the story:
The song "Hard Feelings" is in some ways a quintessential Cross Dog song, and in others feels like a total departure from the norm for us. The music was composed in the way we often find ourselves writing, but lyrically it is much more personal than the socio-political observations we are most often known for. The end result is a song that speaks to something most people can relate to, which is the feeling of vibrant anger that comes after being hurt by someone you really care about, and the way that hurt is capable of coming out raw and unrelenting when the wound is the most fresh.
