Arctic Monkeys Begin New Album (Top 11 of 11)

.
Arctic Monkeys Begin New Album was a top 11 story of 2011 for January. Here is the recap: (Gibson) Arctic Monkeys have begun work on their fourth album, which will be produced by James Ford. NME.com reports that the sessions began in late 2010 in London and are continuing now in Los Angeles.

Frontman Alex Turner and the band are hoping the put out the record in late spring of this year. The album, as yet untitled, will be the Sheffield foursome's follow-up to 2009's Humbug, which was a co-production between Ford and Josh Homme. Ford also worked on the Monkeys' second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare, as well as Klaxons' Myths of the Near Future and Florence and the Machine's Lungs.

Expect Arctic Monkeys to tour in 2011, too. The band have already confirmed a headlining slot at Ireland's Oxegen Festival in July and are expected to participate in V Festival and other U.K. shows - more on this story
