The Sex Pistols' Never Mind The Bollocks

.
For the life of me I don't know why I haven't done this album yet. This one is my blood and soul. It's what I as a musician and fan worship. If there was ever a single record that has influenced the type of music that I love most or described what I love to bang out on a guitar, it is this one album. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say that this album CHANGED EVERYTHING. And I do mean EVERYTHING. The game totally changed after this one.

There is no way to count how many bands were not only inspired by this album, but by the movement as well. It kind of reiterated that anyone could aspire to be a rock star and the rock stars that we idolized at the time.just maybe weren't worth idolizing to begin with.

This is the album where the term "One foot in the gutter and one fist in the gold" came from. And it is the one album I have probably played at least a million times and has been in every car I have owned since I was 16. Whether it be in Cassette, CD or Vinyl, I have kept this one no further than at finger tips distance away. My only regret is I never saw them play live. Of course this one went Platinum not only in the UK but here in the US as well. Not bad for an album where you very rarely, if ever heard a single from it on the radio.

However, the singles "Holidays In The Sun" and "Pretty Vacant" both charted in the Top Ten in the UK, neither one had any traction here in the US. Probably because we were all caught up on when the next KISS album was gonna hit the stores.

"God Save The Queen" would have charted, but it was banned by the BBC and never got any airplay at all. That being said... Ladies and Germs, from one of the greatest bands to ever grace a stage, released on Virgin Records in 1977, The Sex Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks"
