Adley Stump

.
A few years ago when country singer Adley Stump launched her career by appearing on "The Voice" she had the notion that she would be mistaken for just another ditzy blond. Stump generally exudes confidence in everything she does but she also knows that it's easy for people to get the wrong idea from a television show. But what she's up to these days could hardly be pulled off by most people, let alone the stereotypical clueless towhead.

Recently seen on the Red Carpet at the ACM Awards, Stump is the brainchild behind the forthcoming book "How They Sell Music," a primer for those just getting started in the business written by herself and a host of other successful musicians. She's active with charity work, having helped out those affected by the damage caused by the tornados that so often sweep through her native Oklahoma, and when she goes hunting (for turkeys) she donates what she bags to Okie food banks. She's since folded the venture but for a year or so she ran her own hair accessory company. And oh yeah, she has a hit record out.

Stump has an album dropping in mid-May called Like This and the first single off the record, "Stay at Home Soldier," has hit big for her. The song has a catchy hook but even more so it has an emotional one as the song relates how it feels to be at home worrying and raising a family while a spouse if overseas serving in the military. The music video for the song really brings home the message that war is indeed hell and not just for those being shot at.

Currently living in Nashville, Stump is quick with a laugh and she has a down-to-earth personality that belies her burgeoning stardom. Immediately likeable, fans will no doubt be outright in love with her as the year plays out and more of her music filters onto the radio and into the honky-tonks.
