Stooges Documentary 'Gimme Danger' Trailer Goes Online

(Radio.com) Not only do The Stooges have a new biography coming out, but they're also the subject of a forthcoming documentary directed by indie filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and a trailer for the film has gone online.

Gimme Danger, which is titled after the band's 1973 song by the same name, blends archival footage, live performances and interviews to present a new visual history of the band. Jarmusch captured original interviews from frontman Iggy Pop, drummer Scott Asheton and more. Iggy reportedly asked Jarmusch to spearhead the documentary, which he's been working on for several years.

In the trailer, released Wednesday (September 28), Iggy says of the band, "We were real communists. We lived in a communal house, we shared all money, and when we began to write songs, we shared all authorship." He adds at the end, "I don't wanna belong to the glam people, alternative people, to any of it. I don't wanna be a punk. I just wanna be." Read more and watch the trailer here.
