Massive Lou Reed Box Set To Be Released

(Radio.com) Legacy Recordings have announced a comprehensive Lou Reed box set that they will be releasing October 7. The 17-disc collection features his entire recorded catalog with RCA and Arista between 1972 and 1986.

Lou Reed The RCA & Arista Album Collection will be the first comprehensive anthology featuring the first 16 solo albums recorded by the late-singer and songwriter following the break-up of the Velvet Underground. It can preordered here.

The collection features Reed's 1972 self-titled debut and it's follow-up Transformer, which spawned the classic songs "Perfect Day," 'Walk On The Wild Side" and "Satellite of Love." Other iconic albums featured in the set include Berlin, Coney Island Baby, New Sensations and the 1978 effort Lou Reed Live: Take No Prisoners. See the complete track list below.

Reed personally oversaw the remastering process, finishing the project shortly before he passed away in 2013 at the age of 71. His wife Laurie Anderson said, "Lou put his heart into remastering these records. They are not smoothed out. Sometimes remastering revealed their details and roughness in the most exciting ways. They leap out at you with their original energy." Read more and see the track details here.
