(Radio.com) A who's who of country and pop music stars turned up Monday night (Oct. 24) to perform with Garth Brooks in Nashville, Tennessee. Reba, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Steve Wariner and Chris Young all turned out to help Brooks celebrate earning seven diamond albums. Oh, and of course his wife Trisha Yearwood.
Reba told the crowd at the Ascend Amphitheater about the time long ago when Brooks was just getting started in the business and he opened for her on tour. She went on to play Brooks' 1990 single "Not Counting You." Aldean turned up later in the evening to play Brook's 1989 single "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)" and told Brooks that he'd had posters of him on the wall when he was growing up (via Rolling Stone Country).
When Clarkson came onstage toward the end of the night, she performed "We Shall Be Free" before bemoaning the fact that Wariner wasn't around to sing his song "The Weekend." Wariner and Brooks had performed "Longneck Bottle" earlier in the night, but Wariner didn't hang around. Until Brooks called him back, that is. He invited Wariner onstage for a completely surprise performance, so surprising to Wariner, in fact, that he had to concentrate to remember the lyrics to "The Weekend."
Last but not least, Yearwood came out to sing two songs with her husband. The duo performed "In Another's Eyes" and "Walk Away Joe." And while he didn't make his way front and center, Randy Travis was spotted backstage enjoying the festivities. Read more here.
