The estate of late rapper Tupac Shakur has released a statement following the news that he has posthumously been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The statement, as published via his official website (via here), reads: "Tupac was announced as a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, stemming from the release of his debut album 2Pacalypse Now.
"We are incredibly honored by the nomination, and with it the recognition of how impactful Tupac's words, music and artistic mission remain today. He set out to inspire, to provoke, and to give a voice to those who didn't have one. A revolutionary.
"We are so grateful that his message of change has resonated with the nominating committee of the Hall of FameThe millions of people touched by him and his music are acutely aware of this message, and we thank you for tour support.
"You are the reason Tupac continues to live in our hearts and -- more importantly to him -- our minds."
