(Radio.com) The Britney Spears biopic is underway at Lifetime, and paparazzi caught "Britney" aka Natasha Bassett reenacting the famous umbrella meltdown scene from 2007.
At the time, Spears jumped out of a silver sedan while stopping at a gas station and attacked a photographer's car with an umbrella. The entire incident was, of course, captured on film. Four months after the incident took place, Spears offered an even more bizarre explanation for the attack.
"I apologize to the pap for a stunt that was done 4 months ago regarding an umbrella," she wrote on her website. "I was preparing my character for a role in a movie where the husband never plays his part so they switch places accidentally. I take all my roles very seriously and got a little carried away. Unfortunately I didn't get the part" (via People).
In the scene for the made-for-TV movie, Bassett has a shaved head as Spears did at the time, and runs around swiping her umbrella at surrounding paparazzi. Read more here.
