(hennemusic) The Rolling Stones headlined the opening night of the Desert Trip mega festival in Indio, CA this past Friday, October 7 and video from the show has surfaced.
The hit-filled 20-song set opened with the 1981 classic, "Start Me Up", and included the band's live debut cover of The Beatles' "Come Together", and the "Steel Wheels" single "Mixed Emotions",.
The show also included an updated rendition of the Eddie Taylor blues classic "Ride 'Em On Down," delivered live for the first time since 1962 with a studio version to be included on the group's forthcoming album "Blue & Lonesome."
The new classic rock festival - running October 7-9 and 14-16 at the Empire Polo Club - sees the Stones and Bob Dylan perform on Fridays, Paul McCartney and Neil Young on Saturdays, and Roger Waters and The Who on Sunday evenings. here.
