(Radio.com) Apparently, there is such thing as an amicable separation. Prince's ex-wives Manuela Testolini and Mayte Garcia honored the late superstar Wednesday night (May 11) at a special memorial service at Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
Keyboardist Greg Phillinganes opened the memorial with a performance of "Sometimes it Snows in April," reports Billboard. Nile Rodgers, Mavis Staples, Recording Academy president Neil Portnow, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Cheryl Boone Isaacs and Spike Lee spoke at the ceremony. Esperanza Spalding and Janelle Monae paid respect with musical performances.
Testolini, Garcia, Omarr Baker (the son of Prince's mother, Mattie, and her second husband, Hayward Baker) and others also shared about their time with Prince, who died April 21 at his Paisley Park home and studio in Minneapolis. Read more here.
