Taylor Swift Receives The First Taylor Swift Award

(Radio.com) For only the second time in BMI's 76-year history, the organization has presented an award in an artist's name. Taylor Swift received the Taylor Swift Award in recognition of her creative and artistic talent and influence. In 1990 Michael Jackson received the Michael Jackson Award.

Accompanied by her mother, father and brother, Swift received a standing ovation when she was presented with her self-named award in a ceremony on May 10 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills, CA.

"This is just an unbelievable night," said the 10-time Grammy Award winner, then added, "I have this issue called songwriting ' I know you have it too." Read more here.
