(Radio.com) A documentary about DJ AM will be shown to audiences across the U.S. for the first time. As I Am: The Life and Time$ of DJ AM will be taken on the road, showing in more than 30 theaters one night only (with a few exceptions), beginning May 27 in New York.
Director Kevin Kerslake's documentary about the remarkable life and untimely passing of Adam Goldstein, legendary DJ and mash-up pioneer, has received rave reviews from Billboard, Rolling Stone, Variety and the New York Post.
According to producers, the film is a comprehensive and compassionate look at one of the world's first truly superstar DJs. Goldstein experienced meteoric success through both raw talent and sheer determination, overcoming what for others might have been staggering adversity before tragically succumbing to the demons that dogged his life and career.
Among the topics covered in the film is the fateful 2008 plane crash that left Travis Barker and Goldstein as the only survivors. Goldstein passed away less than a year later at the age of 36. He was found dead in his New York City apartment from a drug overdose. Read more and see the dates here.
