(Radio.com) If you want a peek into the mind of Maynard James Keenan, you're about to get an exclusive inside look. His approved biography A Perfect Union of Contrary Things will be available November 8th and a trailer for the book has gone online.
Keenan worked closely with writer and longtime friend Sarah Jansen on the project. The point was to move away from the understanding of Keenan only as a musician or as Tool's frontman, and illuminate and explore the many other facets of his personality.
Not only will readers get photographs of Keenan as a child up to the present, but many of the people he's worked with in the music industry along with his friends and family contributed interviews for a well-rounded look. And then, of course, there's Keenan in his own words, sharing stories, insight and more about his life, which took him from the Midwest to the Army to art school and beyond.
According to the book's press release, A Perfect Union of Contrary Things "presents the outtakes, the scenes of disappointment and triumph, and the events that led him to take one step after the next, to change direction, to explore sometimes surprising opportunities."
