Dead & Company Open To Making Album

(Radio.com) Bob Weir reveals that Grateful Dead offshoot Dead & Company are open to the idea of making a new studio album but he does not see that happening anytime soon.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Bob Weir said the formation-which includes original members Micky Hart and Billy Kreutzmann, along with guitarist John Mayer, bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti-might eventually get into the studio, but it will take some time before that happens.

"We kick it around," he admitted. "We need to put in another tour-or two. And then what direction do we pursue with recording? Do we start from scratch, do all new material? Or do we go back after some of the tunes that were never recorded [by the Dead] in the studio? Or a combination of both, which is kind of where I would want to do it. For instance, I would love to take a song like 'The Other One,' into the studio or 'Dark Star.'" Read more here.
