Cream legend Ginger Baker is doing "okay" after he underwent open heart surgery, according to comments that his daughter made to British publication The Daily Mirror.
Leda Baker told the outlet (via UCR) "Dad called the day after his surgery to say he's okay," she said. "Albeit a rather disorientated and unintelligible conversation, he was at least awake and aware." She added, "Ginger is on the road to recovery. After open-heart surgery and a bad fall, he is miraculously recovering well."
Baker revealed back in February that he planned to have open-heart surgery following a fall at his home. He said at the time, "There are two options for surgery.
"Depending on how strong my old lungs are, they may do both. The doctor says he's going to get me playing again."
