TeamRock Staff Members Lose Jobs Just Days Before Christmas

We are sad to report that one of our news partners TeamRock (Classic Rock, Prog, Metal Hammer, Blues Magazine) have entered into the UK equivalent of bankruptcy.

The story turns sadder when it was also revealed that 73 people on the TeamRock staff lost their jobs just days before Christmas and reportedly received zero pay.

Ben Ward started a crownfunding drive to raise some money for the TeamRockers that lost their jobs and their families. Ward started the effort with a goal of raising 20,000 (just under $25,000 U.S.). Ward explained the drive with these comments, "73 members of the Team Rock staff were told that the company is going into liquidation and that they are being made redundant with immediate effect with ZERO pay. These are good, hard-working, committed people that through Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Prog Rock, TeamRock Radio and more, have supported the rock and heavy metal scene in this country for decades and now we, the rock community, need to pull together to help give something back."

We here at antiMusic and the Day in Rock want to personally thank all of the hard working people that we had the pleasure to work with at TeamRock over the past few years, especially our longtime friend and former TeamRock news editor Martin Kielty.

While TeamRock was a major contributor to the Day in Rock, we want to assure our loyal readers that we will still continue our drive to bring you the latest rock news. You may notice fewer stories due to the holidays and our transition to more original reports, but rest assured we will continue our mission moving forward and we want to thank you for your support and loyalty. If you want to help the TeamRockers by making a donation to the crowdfunding campaign, you can do so here.
