(Radio.com) Alessia Cara may have released her debut studio album Know-It-All last year, but today she premiered the video for the lead track off that project, "Seventeen."
The video shows time passing on a public bus. It begins with Cara as a young child and shows her transformation to pre-teen and later teenager. But the video doesn't stop at her current age. Instead, it keeps going and shows her as a polished young woman holding a GRAMMY then as a mother and later as a senior.
On Twitter, Cara shared that the GRAMMY moment hadn't happened yet, and was merely a prediction. Responding to a follower asking about its meaning, she tweeted, "it symbolizes my hopes for long-term success in my career. putting it out into the universe, in other words."
On Vevo, Cara wrote a message to her fans. "It's a personal song and video for me (starring my family and friends, as usual) and I'm excited it's finally out for u guys to see," she shared. "Hope it'll remind u to enjoy all the little moments in life, especially this time of year. Thank u for making mine that much more special. Happy holidays & enjoy the video." Watch it here.
