(Radio.com) Chris Martin performed "Streets of Philadelphia" in, wait for it, Philadelphia on Saturday (August 6). Coldplay were in town playing the city's Lincoln Financial Field when Martin changed the night's tone by slowing things down for a moment (via Billboard).
He grabbed his acoustic guitar, sat front and center, and began playing the moving song Springsteen wrote for the 1993 film Philadelphia. The crowd joined in, adding their voices to give the song an added emotional quality.
It's just the latest in a series of covers the band has been performing as they continue their world tour. In early July, Martin and folk singer Lianne La Havas paid tribute to Prince with a quiet, stirring cover of "Sometimes It Snows in April." Watch Martin play "Streets of Philadelphia" here.
