Csongrady tells White Line Fever: "He had a song he wrote about a woman he was living with back then. A guy in Sydney, he's got the song and it was never recorded. Bon wrote it.
"He asked me, actually, 'Would you like to try and record this.' I said, 'It'd be a bloody honour.' I'd love to do that. I don't know the name of it. It's named after his girlfriend. I was at the Bridge Hotel in Sydney and he played it on piano to me and sang it rough and showed me the lyrics. It's got 'Bon Scott' as the signature on it. It's a really old piece of paper." "I would like to thank the fantastic medical team who have been treating me for the last few months, resulting in this amazing outcome," says Dickinson. "It's been tough on my family and in many ways it was harder for them than me.
"I'd also like to send a heartfelt thanks to all our fans for their kind words and thoughts. I'm a firm believer in trying to maintain a positive attitude, and the encouragement from the global Maiden family meant a great deal to me. Right now, I'm feeling extremely motivated and can't wait to get back to business as usual, as soon as I can!"
"We are of course all absolutely delighted that Bruce's doctors have pronounced him free of cancer," adds Maiden manager Rod Smallwood. "Although Bruce is naturally eager to resume Maiden activities, it will take a while before he is completely back to full strength, as we explained previously.
"Because of this, the band will not be touring or playing any shows until next year. We know our fans will understand the situation and, like us, would prefer to wait until Bruce is back to his usual indefatigable levels of fitness before going out on the road."
Iron Maiden recorded an album in 2014 but plans to release it were on hold while the singer recuperates; Smallwood says the group will now move forward with the project.
"For now, the focus will be on putting the finishing touches to the new Iron Maiden studio album and that is what we will be concentrating on over the coming weeks," he says. "The release however will definitely be this year." Read more

8 News Now Las Vegas reports The Employee Management Relations Board determined Metro Captain David O'Leary should not have been demoted to a lower rank and he should receive back pay to December 2013.
O'Leary took Ashba for a free "fly along" on the public dime as part of the guitarist's marriage proposal to then girlfriend Nathalia Henao. Ashba's girlfriend said yes to the proposal after the helicopter landed in a field next to a table with roses and champagne.
The initial investigation determined O'Leary was guilty of violating department policy for the fly along because the process is supposed to begin and end at Air Support and does not include any off-site landings, as occurred in this incident.
As a result of the investigation, Captain O'Leary was in the process of being demoted to the rank of lieutenant but retired in December 2013 before the discipline went into effect. Read more

Clapton let the world know how he's feeling in a video he uploaded to Facebook on Friday (May 15), in which he eulogizes King's passing and urges his audience to listen to his music.
'He was a beacon for all of us who love this kind of music," says Clapton in the video. 'If you're not familiar with his work, I would encourage you to go out and find an album called B.B. King Live at the Regal, which is where it all really started for me as a young player."
He goes on to add that King's music has become a "thing of the past." Clapton and King released a collaborative album in 2000 called Riding With the King. Read more and watch the video

The lead guitarist teamed up with veteran journalist and author Chris Epting on the project, which marks the first book written by a member of the group. "It's fascinating for even me to look back at my life," says Collen, "from working in a factory at 16 years old to eventually traveling the world selling over one hundred million records and all the experiences that come with that journey.
"I realize that there is a constant evolution of 'me' that is still a work in progress even as I continue to be vital and dynamic in my same occupation for the past 35 years well into my late fifties."
Collen joined Def Leppard in 1982 following the dismissal of original lead guitarist Pete Willis over alcohol abuse issues. Read more

Mathias was introduced with a brief tweet and a link to his first official tweet, which read: "No Way Out!" That's the title of the track they've unveiled in a lyric video, while confirming that Venom will be released on August 14.
Mathias later added: "Blasting the new tune. Thanks for your support guys!" Frontman Matt Tuck recently reported that standalone track Raising Hell, released in 2013, won't appear on Venom, saying: "It would be a bit of a cop-out to put something that's been out for so long on the record - it just wouldn't be cool." Co-hosted by Sammy Hagar and Metallica's James Hetfield, the event was staged as a benefit for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.
Cantrell also performed the Alice In Chains tune, "Brother", and the Rolling Stones track "Dead Flowers" as part of his set, and he joined Hetfield for an unplugged version of the 1976 Blue Oyster Cult classic, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper."
The evening at The Masonic also included performances by Joe Satriani, Pat Monahan from Train, Adam Sandler and Linda Perry. Cantrell and Alice In Chains will launch a summer US tour in San Diego on July 17.

In the latest video clip of a series he made for Road Recovery, Hetfield says: "There was a split in the road. I'm thinking, 'I'm this rocker dude who's got to go out blazing. I need to show my fans that I really care about them more than anything else.' I forgot about the other split - my family."
And he won't give himself a break just because he came from a broken home. "Just because my family kind of disintegrated as a kid doesn't mean my parents didn't have unconditional love for me," he says.
But he's learned lessons from his experience. "I know there are parents out there that struggle with loving their kids, or not knowing how to love their kids. Being a parent is so hard. I'll either smother that kid with control or just go, 'Whatever you do, I don't want to know.' Being in the middle is so hard. And even when you're doing a good job, you're hated." The Stones first met him in 1969 when they toured the US and invited him to join them. Wyman tells the BBC: "I was able to stand side stage and just watch B.B. with his band. You realized just what a talent he was. It was the way he played."
The last time he met King was in 2009. He remembers: "He could do that tremolo beautifully. He asked me if I could do it, and I said, 'No, I'm a bass player.' He sat me down with his guitar and I tried to do it - but it was impossible for me. He kept saying, 'Come on, you can do it.' He was so sweet."
Wyman adds: "He had a lot of humor and he told wonderful stories about the past. He influenced so many guitarists with that style. He was unique. He's a giant of the 20th century, like Ray Charles, Louie Armstrong, Duke Ellington and people like that. He was really loved." Read more

And he reports that although he talked with some big-name sticksmen following the departure of Shawn Drover last year, he didn't want to go for a predictable choice.
Mustaine tells Rolling Stone: "Our hopes were to have a permanent drummer but the option to do a record with Chris was really exciting to me. We've looked at a lot of people. I talked with my friend Mike Portnoy, who I think is an amazing talent, and I talked to Dave Lombardo. Mike Mangini's name has come up.
"But there was just something telling me to pause, saying, 'Really think about who you're gonna play with, Mustaine. Make sure you're going to do something that's really going to excite people and that it's not predictable.'" Read more

Backed by a version of the Rolling Stones' Factory Girl, Goodnight My Dear is described as "a bluesy piano ballad complete with funeral horns and marching drums", and was inspired by the suicide of a friend of the band's singer, Paul-Ronney Angel.
Earlier this year, a campaign was launched to raise money to help the family of guitarist Nick Marsh, who is currently battling aggressive throat and mouth cancer. He recently returned to hospital after catching an infection, but hopes to rejoin the band for the festival season. Watch the video

King died on Thursday, aged 89, after a career spanning 66 years highlighted by his trademark guitar style. Weinman tells The Metal Hammer Magazine Show's Alexander Milas at Rock On The Range: "When I first started playing guitar, all I did was play blues. I had a teacher and we learned the basic blues styles, then he'd send me home to listen to B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton. I really cut my teeth on those things.
"B.B. knew how to use space. Where he didn't play spoke to you more than where he did play. That's what really brought the feeling." And that lesson helped Weinman develop his own band's sound. "That's what I've always thought about with Dillinger," he says. "Some of the less complex moments speak to you the most, because of everything around them that's so crazy." Read more

Torabi is happy that the latest incarnation, which also features Ian East, Dave Sturt, Cheb Nettles and Fabio Golfetti, isn't like any previous version. "That's exactly what Daevid wanted," he states.
After their initial doubts the band are determined to continue. "His passing, if anything, has strengthened our resolve. There's bound to be a 'No David, no Gong' contingent. I understand that completely. I never expected or particularly desired to front Gong - but it sounds so good it would be stupid not to continue.
"It's an honour to play this stuff. Daevid trusted us with it and it sounds wonderful. If anyone has a problem with that then that's their trip, not ours." Read more

"Never Tell" is all about keeping secrets. We all have a few secrets to hide from the world for one reason or another. There are those people in your lives that try and pry the "dirty" details for gossip purposes and so on, but sometimes they have to stay hidden to the grave.
Thinking about these secrets to myself I said out loud, "I'll never tell", and a light went off in my head immediately. I knew I had a new song. When I write songs I build the story like a movie in my mind, that's where it begins. If I don't like the movie I throw it out in start over. I started brainstorming. "Ok who keeps secrets-why do they keep secrets-the most important secrets, and at what lengths will they go to to remain secrets.
That's when I immediately knew it needed to be some sort of spy/agent type of story to really grasp the importance and concept of what I wanted to say.
With the story still being written in my mind, and some written notes here and there, I decided to create characters, and try and create real depth into the backstory.
So originally I pictured Amanda(our singer) as some sort of agent/spy who either stole something or knew something of high importance. She then is kidnapped and taken to a dark, abandoned place. Preferably an empty warehouse on the neglected side of town where no one goes. Tied to a chair where no one can hear her scream she is tortured and severely beaten by an enemy or rival gang/crime family or government agency. Unsuccessfully they fail, and in her resiliency she escapes and takes out everyone in her path. That's how "never tell" was born.
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the video here and learn more about the band and the album
