Season's End is another group out of Columbus, Ohio and "trenches" is the bands second effort. Mixing lots of power chords and some outstanding keyboards the music comes across as crisp and original. Unfortunately, the vocals spoil the whole day. It may just be that the band didn't have enough money to work on the vocals more in the studio. Vocalist/guitarist Alex West has a tendency to over sing at times and under sing at others, very rarely hitting that magic middle ground. Imagine a male version of Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons and you will have an idea of West's vocal technique. The CD contains twelve tracks but none stand out as obvious hits. Then again that may just be this bands style and plenty of fans in the Columbus area love this band, so they are doing something right. As with any review all you get is the reviewers' opinion. I'm a firm believer of judging for yourself. So log on to the band's website and hear them for yourself.
