At first glance, Injected seems to be another run-of-the mill heavy alternative band. Honestly, I'm tired as hell of that genre. It's fine for what it is, but I can't stand the trend of every band on the radio sounding like this. I have to give credit where it's due, though, and the fact that I really do like the Injected record surprises me.

What they do, they seem to do a better than the rest. Since this is their debut album, that makes them all the more impressive. With this album, expect strong lyrics, great production, hard driving guitars, and some melodies that actually truly cling. However, also expect a few weak tracks, and a lack of general lack of variety. Listening to the album all the way through in one sitting, the songs tend to blend together a little too much. That might be more of a personal preference for me as a music fan than a true album criticism, it's just record seems redundant at times. Still, a lot of what's here is great. When playing certain tracks in my car ("Bullet," "Burn It Black," "Lights Are Low," and the hidden bonus track come to mind), I can't help but shout along to the choruses. That right there is the Scott Vile seal of approval: When songs make me look like a jackass in traffic. If you're a fan of the genre, pick it up.
