This is not the typical kind of music you will find covered here at antiMUSIC, gruvis malt mixes smooth-jazz with rap. A marriage of musical styles that actually makes sense, since rap draws a lot of it's structure from jazz and the combination here works much better together than what we are hearing from groups mixing rap and rock. gruvis malt makes jazz and rap seems like they were made for each other, so for that reason alone this CD is one that fans of either genre should give a listen to. With that said, the rap isn't heavy in the mix as the music is based mostly on the jazz component. gruvis malt are to be commended for a job well done and this just may be a precursor of a type of fusion music to come. So if you are out on the cutting edge of music it would be wise to give gruvis malt a spin, if you want to stay on top of all emerging music forms.
