I'm almost afraid to post this review since
this band seems to change their name every week and by the time this goes
up, they could have yet another name. Leaving that aside, they do have
something concrete to offer in the music department. Their Road Runner
debut, The Darker Side of Nonsense, is an interesting mix of nu metal-core
with some techno aspects thrown in ala Ministry. The vocals don't follow
the current Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam mold that so many new bands seem
to co-opt. Cliff Rigano screams are closer to Soulfly, Static-X or Pantera.
He does a great job of counting his screams with a more toned down approach
similar to the switch off we heard from The Step Kings last year.
Cliff Rigano's two-pronged vocal approach help give the songs attitude
where it's needed and melody where that is called for. While "Dry
Kill Logic" isn't breaking any ground that hasn't been covered by Soulfly
or Sepultura they do an able job of delivering music that fits that mold
and should be an easy sell to fans of this style of music.
