Vincent Serati is a one band; he wrote,
produced and performed all the songs for this CD in his own home studio.
If you are a fan of introspective lyrics then Sapien is for you. Vincent
tackles many diverse issues through his lyrics. The sound for the most
part is the more melodic moments of Nine Inch Nails meets a more modern
take on David Bowie on the opening track and then invades Everlast territory
with the second track. On the third track Vincent returns to "Hole in the
Head" NIN style. The rest of the CD blurs the lines between electronica,
industrial, rock and r&b. If you like experimental music they you should
find a lot to love here. Vincent includes enough hooks in his choruses
to attract a more mainstream audience as well. Overall, this CD is a nice
exploration of various styles of music from a man who refuses to fit one
mold.
