Sex, Drugs and Rock n' Roll, while that may seem passé to some, Buckcherry obviously doesn't give a damn as they stick to the same high octane rock n roll formula with this their sophomore album. Front side is a straight-ahead rocker that gets things moving nicely. The second track, Ridin' comes across as a rehashing of their hit "lit up", "Place in the Sun" and" (Segue) Helpless" are the two strongest tracks on this album because both go beyond the bad boy rock mold and offer a bit more substance that the I wanna party mentality. "You" is the obligatory power ballad, like it's predecessor At the Drive-In this track has a catchy melody and is sure to inspire lots of raised lighters when performed live.
The Bottom Line: While there is nothing
new here for Buckcherry, this is a good solid follow up to their debut
album. If you liked the first CD, this one is a must. It shouldn't disappoint
Buckcherry loyalist in the slightest.
